Thor rightfully won our Superhero Tournament here, and yeah it was good to see why.

I'd pump the brakes on that one. Here's how it goes when it's not voted on by a board dominated by Marvel fanboys.

I was a DC reader growing up and Superman was one of my favorite heroes. You don't have to be a Marvel fanboy to think that because Thor has magic Superman is probably fricked.

Saw it last night, enjoyed it very much. The humor wasn’t an issue for me, save the Korg line at the end, not sure why they kept it. If Thor dispatched Sutur so easily in the opening, why did Hella struggle w/Sutur? And why was he ginormous for that fight, but was much smaller in the Thor fight? Enjoyed just about every minute

He explained how much more powerful he would be with the crown lit by the eternal flame and being on Asgard.

Ah gotcha, figured I missed something. Also, was that big destroyer metal guy from first Thor movie (the one that appeared from behind the wall to blast the Frost giants & later taken out by Thor) the only one? It seemed like he could’ve been summoned to help fight Hela.

You should know by now that you can't say anything negative about the MCU around here. It has to be nothing but high praise for these films.

How much magic does Thor have now? He controls lightning and Mjolnir. Unless we're talking about Thor with his "unending cosmic Odinforce" (which is a bit of a deus ex machina, making him all powerful).

Superman is affected by magic. It doesn't mean that magic affects him more than the average person. It just means that if a sorcerer turns him into a dog, then he turns into a dog. But if Thor's hammer is flying hard enough to break through a wall... then that's how hard it will hit Superman. It's not going to hit Superman with more force because "Superman gets hurt by magic". Same with the lightning. It's Superman getting hit by lightning.

Saw it last night. Had to adjust to the humor, but that was no gripe. Fun movie. Loved the soundtrack.

Big problem I had was the ending. It goes to great links to establish that Hela's powers are tied to Asgard. It also adds that Thor's powers are tied to Asgard. They destroy Asgard and presumably destroy Hela, but then Asgard becomes a "people, not a place" and Thor still has his powers. Really? Such a crappy finish. Still enjoyed it and would watch again.

There's plenty to criticize about some MCU films, even this one. And they are criticized often without disagreement or a big fight. But because, in general, MCU has been good and DC has sucked, psycho DC fans make cliche statements like this because... well, I don't really know why. Insecurity?

I don't remember them adding that Thor's powers are tied to the place? Especially when he's going through this process that explains his powers aren't tied to his hammer.

Ah yes, always the standard go to on this board. If you don't love the MCU, you must be a DC fanboy. Go ahead and show me proof of me being a DC fanboy, I'll wait.

Well that statement isn't hypocritical at all...

I don't know if you love the MCU or not. You said something stupid along the lines of what a DC fanboy would say.

Your last unoriginal post is pretty convincing.

Odin tells him that his powers were focused by Mjolnir, but that their origin was Asgard.

Why do people have to choose one or the other? I want them both to be awesome. Unfortunately, while I have really enjoyed the DC movies, especially WW, they as a whole are not up to par with Marvel.

Ah yes, the vaunted Marvel fanboy group.

FWIW, this happened before there was a deep disagreement and insecurity. This was like 2010-2012 when TDK, was still the unquestioned 3rd greatest movie of all time, right behind The Godfather and The Good, The Bad the Ugly. Seriously. TDK is the 3rd greatest film of all time. So the whole Marvel fanboy thing, yeah that doesn't exist.

I'm guessing when we do this again, TDK will still, undeservedly, be in like the Top 25 greatest films of all time and there won't be a single Marvel film in that group.

You don't think fanboys had a say in that video? Superman didn't lose to Thor btw, he lost to Shazam - due to Magic - in the semis or quarters, don't remember. Thor then beat Shazam in the finals.

I can see that everyone is gearing up for the battle that will undoubtedly occur in a couple of weeks.

Should be epic. Can't wait...

Wow. You really are a cliche machine. I made an observation. I don't even read comics. Liked this movie. Liked WW. Hated Thor 2. Hated BvS. And I've seen people praise and shite on each. In general, the better movies get defended more. In general, the MCU has had better movies. I don't know why anyone has to explain this to you.

Exactly. People shouldn't and I don't think they do that often around here. Hence why I think his sarcastic comment about not being able to criticize MCU films around here deserved a response.

This x100. I think most people who enjoyed the film have mentioned plenty of things they didn't like - from Valkyrie, to some forced jokes, to some of the carefree attitudes for important story points or situations - and those comments get completely overlooked just because someone, in spite of those problems, probably liked the film.
