Just came across this series with Rich Eisen doing one-on-one interviews with several of the OG SportsCenter hosts from its beginnings in the late 70s through the 90s. It is an entertaining walk down memory lane for anyone who grew up watching those shows as your only means of national sports news before all the games were broadcast and you could get live updates on your phone as the games are played. A lot of behind the scenes stories.

I used to watch Sports Center every night when I was younger, man how it has change.

Strange to think my entire adolescence revolved around watching Sportscenter in my room while I got ready for school and then reading the AJC sports page at the table/in the car, and now I don’t think anyone can/would do either of those things.

Per my YT algorithm, Rich Eisen seems to hit on nostalgia a lot, and I'm all about it. But any time he pops up on YT it's clips of him interviewing famous actors and asking them about their classic movies and certain scenes or backstories. It's usually a solid watch.
I may look into some of these interviews with old SC anchors. Man, that was such an amazing show back in the day. And as it's been mentioned, for whatever reason we'd all watch the same SC 4/5 times in a row in the mornings.
Good times...simpler times.

But back then he and DP were fricking awesome.

Same here. It's always a good watch when he's got actors or musicians on his show and gets behind the scenes stories.

Nothing more depressing than that last SC ending on Sunday Morning when they switched over to NFL coverage.

A common theme through the series is how everyone misses what it used to be but knows that it can never be that way again because so many games are televised now and everything is reported real time. They all realize they caught lightening in a bottle and were having the times of their lives while seeing how far they could push the envelope.

I watch/listen to his show daily and it’s great. He has built a great cast of co-hosts, and his guests are usually can’t miss. On more than one occasion, I have come home to pull up an interview clip to show my wife because it references something we have watched or talked about- Seinfeld (the sea was angry that day), Rob Lowe, Steve Harvey, etc. This was Sportscenter has been a fun watch, too. I wasn’t expecting him and Dan to go blue, but the F-Bombs seemed to make it more candid. Really enjoyable.

For a long time, it was part of my afternoon ritual. I honestly can not tell you the last time I watched it other than college football stuff

My summers in elementary school basically consisted of:
- Wake up
- Watch SportsCenter with Eisen and Scott at 8 am
- Watch replay of the very SportsCenter I had just watched at 9 am
- Price is Right at 10 am
- Wake up
- Watch SportsCenter with Eisen and Scott at 8 am
- Watch replay of the very SportsCenter I had just watched at 9 am
- Price is Right at 10 am

shite, I miss the Roy Firestone interviews, and while we are at it Australian rules football. Those little ref in their white sport coats doing that little pointing thing. Good times. Didn't Texaco or Getty Oil own part of ESPN at one time?
