Again, look to the S2 finale scene where they tease the Big Three and their families getting together on what we learn will be a visit to Rebecca's bedside. Tess is an adult. It's easily 20 years after the "present day" scenes.

ETA - Life sucks, sometimes. My wife and I had to plan and scrap 3 separate weddings that were totally settled, due to health issues of her parents. Ultimately, we got married twice in the same day, at her mom's & dad's bedside. They were on different floors of the same hospital. Her mom passed away a week later, and her dad 13 days after that.

The venue didn't matter, because she got to have her parents there, and that's what was most important to her.
Besides, at the end of the day, we're just as married.

I think Kate's BF is going to be abusive. The last thing she needs is another reason to feel bad about herself and turn to food, and I'm betting he gives it to her.

glad to see Kate has to get 2 seats on the airplane.

Yikes Rebecca is progressing much faster than I thought.

curious as to what happens in the 9 months from thanksgiving to their 40th birthday to when Randall is basically excommunicated form the family and on non-speaking terms

My guess would be Randall kept it a secret as Rebecca asked. And Kevin probably said something like you're not even her real son.

Oh I could definitely see that conversation blowing up... Kevin calling Randall out about their entire childhood and being special and going to different schools and being coddled and treated a little differently.

That would be BRUTAL.

Also, my hate for Kate continues.

Why the hell do you tell Toby about the avocados?? That's one little lie of omission that hurts no one and allows your husband to have this magical moment with his son.

And later, when she sees the text from his X-fit buddies it's a "bad thing" that he is reaching out for support from his friends. Support in dealing with his emotional train wreck of a wife who is constantly in need of him to cheer her up, tell her she's pretty, ignore her continued weight gain and slothfulness, and who has the gall to make you feel guilty about getting healthy.

She told Beth she felt bad because he lost the weight without her. Well if he had waited on her they'd both still be pushing 450. She isn't making the effort.

She's a figurative and literal boat anchor.

I don't think this one is a legit gripe. Her scenes came from the timeline of their 40th birthday, not Thanksgiving. Correct?
