Seriously.. everything around this character is terrible. The actor is terrible, the character is terrible, the storylines with her are just terrible. I want to roll my eyes every time she’s on the damn screen complaining about something.

My wife and daughter watch that tripe.
Reminds me of Dawson’s Creek and those teenage angst shows.

I stopped watching Grey’s Anatomy about 9-10 years ago, but I bet Meredith is still a train wreck hell bent on everyone else being as nuts as she is.

I like this show. It's one of the few shows on TV where characters make the right decision solely on the grounds that it's the right thing to do. It depicts nuclear families who, despite their problems, still work to love each other and treat each other right. It's actually refreshing.

Is she the fat one? My only takeaway from any of the commercials I've seen is that there is an emotional chick on the show that is much fatter than Melissa McCarthy ever was at her fattest

While I find the show just OK, I don't get your hate for this character. The few times I sat down and watched while my wife and daughter cracked out on it, I found the acting overall to be very good, including this one.
The problem with this series is not the acting, it's the melodramatic foolishness (as someone else pointed out). The characters do feel real, which is good, but the shite that goes on in their lives is a bit over the top.
The death episode was terrible though. It suffers from overhyped buildup followed by an extreme let down

I don’t watch because of her. It’s the kind of show I’d normally love, and my wife always has it on so I catch bits while I’m sitting around browsing the OT and stuff, so I’m familar enough with it. I want to start from the beginning and watch it but I just can’t because of Kate.
