Not sure I buy your argument that Miguel is not likable.
I made an error. "Not" was supposed to be "now".

I don't think they are trying to insinuate that Rebecca or Miguel love each other as much as their first spouses.
I absolutely agree. It's a different love and that's what I'm getting from what's going on now. I think we all knew it would be a different love anyway. Pretty obvious, the Rebecca/Jack deal was a once in a lifetime relationship.

He's cremated and sits on kates' Mantle....
Edit: I realize now what you meant and yeah I would guess that's why he's cremated after all of it

I don't know why I keep forgetting that. I guess I haven't noticed him on the mantle in a while. I just feel like him saying he hates suits is going to come up again, but you're right in that it doesn't fit with the funeral since he was cremated and not buried.
If he died in the fire, he may have had to be cremated.
There's going to be something else about the Superbowl too, I'd bet, because isn't the episode when we find out how he dies going to air that night or shortly after? I remember someone mentioning that.

I don't think it is the Super Bowl since the Steelers fell short of making it that year. He died when they were 17 which would be between August 31, 1997 and August 30, 1998. Since it was winter and Rebecca was wearing a Steelers jersey when she had his belongings from the hospital in the car, my theory has been that he died on the night of the 1997 AFC Championship Game (January 11, 1998) which the Steelers lost to the Denver Broncos earlier that afternoon. Kate mentioned last season to Toby about getting back into football and watching it with her dad's urn when the Steelers beat the Broncos to go to the Super Bowl (and then win it) 8 years later.

Doesn't Kate talk about watching the Super Bowl with him every year and tell Toby something about that in their early dating?

Actually, I'm on board the train about forgetting that he was cremated. I just remember the memorial scene being in a field of sorts, and I think my brain immediately went to cemetery.
Although I could've sworn I remember a shot of the kids standing in front of other headstones, where Kevin's leg was still in the cast, w/o the suit covering it. That has to be me misremembering it, since I can't find a photo to back it up.
What a gut punch once they show Kevin putting on the suit that his dad helped him pick out, for Jack's funeral. Can't guarantee that my eyes won't leak if he does the checklist to make sure it fits one more time.

Idk if it was the SB or just Steelers games.

Yes. She told Toby how they all as a family watched the Steelers play every week and then she got away from that when Jack died but when the Steelers went on their Cinderella run in 2005 she got back into watching Steeler games but with his Jack’s urn by her side every week. It was her way of bonding with him and remembering him again

That's where mine went because I remembered them being outside and I remember now thinking to myself "why would they be outside if he was cremated and not buried?". I don't remember the shot you're showing. I remember one that just showed them from sort of a front side view. Your pic makes more sense, but why would that be outside?

That's right because there was an issue with Toby coming to watch a game with her. Thanks!

I did enjoy their fleshing out of Madison's character more. It was refreshing to see Kate not exercise her superpower of turning any topic/event into her black hole of suckage/self-loathing about her weight.

I wanted to high five the shite out of Miguel when he shut Beth down in the bar.
I assume they'll start deep diving into Rebecca & Miguel's reconnection through Facebook and their dating now that it's been established that he didn't want her when Jack was alive.
The whole suit fitting scene tugged at the heart

I was all excited for a William episode so in the end it was a little disappointing there wasn't more of him in it. Not sure I like where Slumlord Randall is headed.
Miguel became infinitely more likable in this episode.

Does anybody watch this other than chicks and married couples?
Posted on 1/18/18 at 6:56 pm to BS
Pretty sure that lots of people besides females and married couples watch. Ratings are high for this show.

Watching the the latest episode now. Noticing a high frequency of commercial breaks during this episode. Maybe this is typical but man it is constant. Thank God for DVR fast forwarding.

I never watch live. I need to watch it all with no to little interruptions.

Who else thinks Kevin and Miguel are going to start Big 3 Homes together to honor Jack?
