DCU won't be at comic con. I'm genuinely surprised by this. After this disaster, I thought they'd want to work on getting fans excited about what's coming next
quote:
James Gunn says the DC Universe’s absence from Comic-Con comes down to cost, not the state of the industry.
“I think it’s a case-by-case basis. It just depends on the situation. Sometimes you really benefit from going to Comic Con and spending millions of dollars and selling an idea, especially when you have a great trailer.
But other times, I post a picture of the cover of the screenplay on Instagram for zero dollars, and it is equally effective; it gets just as much press. So you have to kind of always ask yourself, ‘What is it that’s worth spending money on?’”

He's not necessarily wrong. But, you pull this move after a home run. Doing it now after a historic failure just reeks of low-energy, loser behavior.

Gunn doesn't want to be booed and heckled.

That quote is from last summer IIRC. Lanterns has a panel during the hbo max presentation in Hall H this year, but DC as a whole won’t be presenting a slate or anything..
probably because they don’t know if there is a slate

Wow. They missed last year too? Somehow I missed this.

Yep I remember now, they only did a Peacemaker panel during the HBOMax presentation because there were a bunch of people dressed up like him. It was right before the show aired and after Superman came out
Basically the same thing this year

I'm betting James Gunn doesn't surprise release Supergirl on HBO Max like he did with Superman last year.

Look at this strong male lead of the Odyssey!! Leader of armies!
I thought she just played a bit part? She’s not Achilles. For the way people were talking I thought they cast her as Odysseus.
I mean, I’ll wait for the audience reviews.

That's what happens when you deliberately release partial information; people are left to speculate. They wanted the buzz.

Even Oppenheimer got a lot of tickets sold, but few folks went back again.
I mean Oppenheimer was incredible but it's not the kind of movie you feel the urge to re-watch often

Damn, Michael J. Fox looks like he's 12.

First image I saw was a dirty faced Ellen and no explanation. Almost immediately folks assumed she was playing the ghost of Achilles. But instead, she's playing a character who didn't appear in either the Odyssey or the Iliad.
She has zero reason for being in this movie other than Nolan wanting to 'own the chuds'.

So we need explanations for trailers now?

It's diminuitive Ellen , appearing in The Odyssey, as if she's some Greek warrior. In normal times, that should raise all manner of questions.
Stop pretending to be this dumb.
