The woke crowd is after Cobra Kai, it is too white.

Cobra Kai’s “whiteness” is problematic, gang. We’re all having too much fun watching it, apparently, so the Wokescolds must intervene.
quote:
A number of critics have taken notice of the series’ whiteness as well: Salon culture senior editor Hanh Nguyen, who has been critical of the series in the past, told The Times that “the only main character of color who has any sort of interiority is Miguel.” “Danny LaRusso, Italian kid from Jersey,” as Vanity Fair’s Sonia Saraiya put it about the first two seasons, “is the most Japanese character on this show.”

This stuff is never gonna end. God damn I hate progressives

I would say it’s a pretty diverse show. And it’s not the wine crowd. It’s just that one idiot.

That LA times writer is pure garbage
Posted on 1/30/21 at 7:43 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
These writers are just cynical, click-baiters. These people don’t care about diversity. They just need a “take” they can sell.
(That, or it’s just a humorless scold. In which case, I pity anybody who hates life that much.)

Chozen and Kumiko aren't more Japanese than Daniel?
I'm also not sure what they're wanting them to do. Recast Mr. Miyagi? The actor is dead or he would almost certainly be on the show. He is often spoken of reverently.
This is the worst of bad takes.

Aren't there multiple other kids on the show who are also "of color?" Wasn't a black actress one of the main characters in the first two seasons?

Do people really get riled up while watching this shite and write this babbling nonsense

So a writer who took the phrase"three is a crowd" too literally wrote an article. And she didn't even quote three critics who've said this. The writer even took a non-complaint out of context to make her point that many critics are complaining.
Most of the quotes are from Twitter users who've been duped into believing this criticism is common.
More like the dumbass crowd, which clearly includes the op, is after clicks.

To be fair, the show should probably be done... not sure it really needs to go on..

I do think it’s dizzyingly repetitive how almost all film criticism is about this subject...and that includes the counter-arguments.
Just ignore these people with these click-baity takes. Talk about other aspects of film/TV than the diversity angle.

No one is more in tune with “woke culture” than conservatives itching to melt about it any chance they get. It’s one stupid article that was written for the exact purpose of what you’re doing.

The "just ignore them and they'll go away" crowd is wrong. We've done that for decades now and have watched our culture and our country get stolen. It is time to actively drive them out of society.

It's just a few confederate statues, it's not worth fighting over. Let them tear them down, then they'll shutup and just leave us alone and it'll be over.

Stop giving a frick what these scumbag pieces of shite think.

Exactly when was it ignored? Admittedly, the counter-argument side, not having the media infrastructure of the other side, doesn’t get quite the spotlight. But each side has been going at this issue for years, going back to the Nixon era. (William F. Buckley was a more erudite cultural critic than many of today’s conservatives.) The intensity of this debate has intensified in the last decade.
Now, with both sides going at it, there’s no room for any other cultural discussion than the pros/cons of diversity. It’s drowns out everything else.

It only ends when America becomes Rhodesia and/or modern South Africa, where evil whitey is literally hunted down and killed and their lands confiscated.
After that, there is no more scapegoat and then the civilisation devolves into a tribal apocalypse run by warlords.
There is nothing more to any of these "movements" than a long term goal of sheer eradication, submission, and, after that, extinction.
This will happen if things don't change.
The perfect example of the end goal of this was seen over the summer in Seattle, where their "utopia" literally became a tribal slave state warzone within 3 days.

It's easier to say that it's just a sub-mediocre show.
