I always quit in season 2 have never made it past. I fall asleep around episode 7 or 8 about 4 times in a row and say the he'll with it.

On that level, I did have to do a rewind/pause in I think it was episode2 of S2 where the kid pulled out his schlong in the bar...lol

5 isn't bad, they just have characters doing really out of character things. There's some good character stuff with Bubbles. I enjoyed the newsroom setting (the guy who played Gus, the city editor is great) and the montage at the end of the final episode wraps up the show perfectly.

3 is the most overrated of the seasons. The best parts of Season 3 (outside McNulty) was Bunny and Cutty. Even Bubs had a down season. Season 3 was less subtle and Dickensian and more over the top and "Shakespearean"

Definitely keep going. It gets better and sets up so much for later. There is so much range from S2-S5.
I'm gonna go through the whole series again eventually after it's been long enough. Such a great show.

I almost gave up on season 2, but I liked it by the end of the season.

Big fan of Marlo. Dude is cold blooded and no one could really stop him. He has a scene in Season 5 that is one of the best of the entire series. "My name IS my name."

Stick with it. The last two or three episodes of season 2 are really good. They wrap up the season really well.
