chaos agents:
mark and armond are drinking when they run into each other and do drugs from the bag. Armond spirals out of control with his addiction while Mark goes chimp mode. also mark and quinn still have a scuba session so maybe mark goes shark mode next.
Romantic tensions:
paula and olivia lez tension. olivia tries to make paula jealous by screwing shane. this gives rachel an out of the prenup and access to $. also explains why rachel is not with shane at the airport.
rachel may also contribute to setting up a powder keg to make a name for herself as an investagory journalist no matter how many friends she loses or people she leaves dead and bloodied along the way, so long as she can make a name for herself as an investagory journalist.
dark horses:
Tanya and quinn both continue being weirdos. unclear of the role they will play other than roles setting up or escalating tension within/between groups.
Nicole TBD.
Belinda potentially has some mystic cultural stuff going on.
I also saw john gries and molly shannon on the cast list, but don't believe we have seen them in the series yet.

if they were from the first round in 2014....yikes. its 2021 and she's 23 now, ill let you do the math on that.
im assuming it was the 2.0 leak, but still a bit close for comfort as you don't know how much earlier that pic was taken than the leak.
also daddario is 35 and is still objectively hotter than that 23 year old hottie.

also not directed at you, but there's been some folks lamenting on teenagers being shitheads on vacation, depressingly ignore parents, only worry about electronics and no social skills etc... its a satire comedy-drama. all of the characters are caricatures.
absurd and vengeful hotel concierge, grieving looney older lady, massage lady that does chanting stuff who's forced to cater to whitey.
dad who's far up his own arse even his attempts at spending time with kids is about himself. he has a strained sex life with a leader of industry mom. Woke sarcastic teens wielding a pharmacy. outcast brother potentially on the spectrum is glued to a nintendo and forced to sleep in a pantry or whatever.
probably one of the more notable and curious relationships:
immensely wealthy man has to check with mommy about honey moon reservations whos nemesis is the quirky concierge. he is married to the hot chick and seems to have just found out she is a journalist. She makes so little its hardly even pocket change for him to pay her to not work. the deepest dive to their relationship was rachel discussing her marriage and prenup - as in already considering considering the criteria to meet for her way out.

I never got the impression she was from a trashy background, always got a lived in suburb Connecticut then moved to the big city to be a journo and got shell-shocked

She is on the phone with her dad and asks like they have never taken a vacation. Just like 10% more trashier
I think she is fine in the role. She is supposed to uncomfortably and insecure. Her character basically only interacts with people in uncomfortable situations
