Which low budget dystopian NY movie is better?

I'm partial to Plissken, but I know lots of people love The Warriors

Escape from New York, but it's close.

Those films cost a combined ~$10 million to make - today that would be roughly $31 million - or 1/5 what the suits spent on that horrifyingly bad all girl Ghostbusters film last year.

I wonder if any way The Warriors inspired Escape from NY. Had to right? ...but there were even more bad ripoffs that followed such as this gem from '82 1990: The Bronx Warriors

What's more amazing is that the reason all those movies were even plausible was because NY was such an absolute shite hole from about the late 60s to early 90s. Not until Rudy came to office did it get cleaned up.

It really depends on what mood I'm in. Both are great films and classics in their own right. Kinda like comparing apples and oranges, IMO. Too different to pick one over other.

One's a lot more dystopian than the other. I would have never thought to compare the two.
