Dang, even college professors are writing papers on how to handle a zombie apocalypse. Canadian college professors at least: LINK

Word? I've never heard of it. Is it pretty recent and is it about zombies? if so, ima check it out. Usually for Christmas all my family ever buys me is books because I'm always reading shite. I'll just slip this out there and most likely have that bitch in my stocking. lolz.

This thread has had mostly sensible, decent posters with shite to contribute.

I started watching last week and then started reading this thread once I finished ep. 1-5. By the time I got to ep. 5, this thread was definitely getting an OT vibe from it and it actually became more TZM #3 and less about the show.

I had to go find TWD forums so I can read more about the show. Pull this shite together MJC.

it will get back on track. I think next weeks episode will be money and we're back in business.

I wish I fricked with torrents because I would have all the novels wrapped up before the season finale.

I swear once I finished watching up to last week, I dreamed of zombies that night I was so wrapped up in this show.

I hope Darabont does clean up this show next season. When Andrea was crying over her sister that night, it reminded me of Speed. The part where they looped the passengers sitting still...I felt like I was watching a loop of Andrea crying.

I know plenty in this thread love the mystery of hidden meaning a la Lost, but all I need is a little suspense, a pretty cool back story, and a frick ton of Zombie killing.

and top notch make up artist like we've seen so far and like this

I pretty much watched all 5 episodes again today(home with the flu but it's not a flu, I'm just taking precautions so I don't get the ZAIDS) and that bitch was one of the zombies that stood out. Great make-up job.

I pretty much put myself to sleep every night since this show started scheming on what I'm gonna do first when this thing goes down. I have an awesome location and a ton of seeds to start a garden. Strapped up like a car full of Rollin 60's looking for an 18th street essay.

I still can't really complain about anything I've seen in this show so far. Ep 5 was slow, but just relevant to it being an hour. I wish we could have seen more in that short time. The scenes were necessary though IMO. I'm so in love with this show though. I haven't been into something like this since the Wire and the A-team when I was a kid. It fricking rules.

ETA: and the best part is that I don't think this thing has even come close to hitting it's ceiling. shite tons of potential for next season. A show like this can steadily climb and never peak for years. I could see this shite going on 8-10 seasons if they play it right.

I guess I can't imagine Morpheus's voice for anymore MJC. And as far as the dreaming about zombies thing goes, I did one night. I thought it was so real I jumped and reached for my xdm bc I thought they were in my apt!

well that picture there is really me and fwiw I can imitate Morpheus pretty good.

but a funny thing about this show is I used to have real arse nightmares. Very bad nightmares, I was having to seek help because I'd wake up at night in cold sweats and screaming and waking my wife up and freaking her out. Since this show started it's like I've had some of the best sleep I've ever had. It's crazy.

Regarding why they did not scavenge the bodies for gear, ammo, etc. While approaching the CDC. If I recall correctly they were trying to be very quiet so as not to disturb the walkers, hence why they did not check them. Remember gunshots are like a dinner bell.

exactly. The priority was just getting into the building. If they disturbed the retards and then had no way in they'd be fricked like a turtle turned upside down. Now that they are in, they can start scavenging and shite. I hope we see them stay there at least a few episodes next season. I feel like a lot of action can take place while they are holed up in there.

it's an M9-Beretta 92F and it was a piece of shite. It jammed on the reg. But I upgraded a little later. My first 6 months in the sand box thank god we weren't using it all that often. And yeah, that was your regular arse old M-16. It wasn't until the first fallujah battle in November of 04 when they gave our company a lot better weapons. That and they loved making me feel like shite early on. I was the youngest dude there and they let me know it everyday until some newer, younger guys showed up. But it built character.

Well as you can probably already tell my number one zombie killing weapon is a magpul masada, aka bushmaster ACR. Throw an acog and a lasermax grip with the integrated light and green laser, and you're ready to drop geeks left and right.

Not about zombies... about epidemiology and bioterrorism. It goes into pretty good depth about viruses... how they spread and how to control them. It's a great read.

The same guy also wrote Demon In The Freezer and Cobra Event.

The Hot Zone and Demon In The Freezer are both non-fiction (read both recently and they kick arse).

Cobra Event is fiction (reading that one right now... so far it's pretty badass too).

Do we know yet if the finale is going to just be an hour?

Also, let's please not bring OT retards into this thread. It's bad enough already that Meatloaf is up in here and people are hardlegging her pre-imminently before the apocalypse.
