I read Hollow Shell the other night. Very good read. I had a couple of questions about it if you don't mind. Looking forward to the next one.

I read it the other day and enjoyed it as well, and do want to find out what's next.

I still haven't ruled out Merle being redeemed. People have talked about this with the prisoners regarding redemption during the ZA, why not Merle?

We really didn't see too much into his character in the first season. From what I took out of it, the reason he was chained up was that he was going crazy and was worse than normal, which could happen to anyone with what was going on in the world. From what it looked like in the 2nd season, Daryl and Merle had a pretty rough life. Daryl has used this to redeem himself, maybe Merle still can too?

I guess it all depends on how he gets brought back in with the governor and the town that they have set up, and whether or not they are "good" or "bad"

None of this is my theory about what will happen, just throwing out another possibility. I could be wrong but I'm just basing this off of the fact that I don't remember much about Merle from season 1

So far both Season 3 episodes have been better than any in 1 and 2.

My guess,

Michou is the one watching in the woods. they get caught by Merle and the Gov forces them to tell where they are so he can go get them. The two prisoners are not going to last long. Michou makes the two prisoners her new walker pets.

He was shooting walkers with a rifle. Beat the shite out of t-dog and said some racial stuff. He threatened everyone else and rick knocked him down and handcuffed him to a pipe. When the were leaving t-dog tripped over dales bag of tools and dropped the handcuff keys down a drain. They left merle there and he cut off his hand to escape the walkers.

Yeah but my point was that we didn't get to see him at all outside of that sequence. We don't know how he was before, and they way they talked about it then was that the zombies, heat, lack of food, etc. had gotten to him. I think its possible that he isn't that bad normally, and can redeem himself. He might just be a little bit of a hothead and a racist

why at the end does the cop dude say to his wife:

"we are all grateful for what you've done"

I missed what he's mad at her about.

I'm pretty sure he was a huge penis before he blamed the group for forcing himself to cut off his own hand.

I'm not gonna post any of the pictures of merle or anything else but if you want to see them all you gotta do is do a google image search for merle walking dead and you will see for yourself.

there is also a deleted scene from season #2 that features merle that can be found online.

If you want to spoil it for yourself then do the above 2 if not then live in ignorance and bliss.

Yeah but Daryl could be the same way before too. I'm just not ruling out the possibility that he has changed, and the the one time we saw him in season 1, he was acting way over the top. Now its much more likely that he'll be even worse than before, without a hand and nearly eaten because of the group, but I'm not going into it completely set on him being bad again.

just read the article on him, whoa.

This season is the one we have waited for, I hope it keeps up.
Also, so the two brothers have to be the biggest stars on the show. They were the only cast members I have seen in other movies.

deleted scene from season #2

Speaking of deleted scenes. I love this one.

Dixon lowers the BOOM

Per every episode:
1: Carol needs to shut the frick up.
2: Lori needs to die.
3: Andrea needs to be on her knees like a rat eating cheese.

Are deleted scenes spoilers?

If so:

Skip, but I am asking about a plot point from season 1 that was supposed to be in episode 1 of season two but was cut.

The Old Folks home, protected by vatos.
Why would they cut that? That made a damn good twist. I wanted to see how they ended up, and now I know, but it was cut from the show.

How can deleted scene be a spoiler? No new character presented. Just a showcase of Darrel Dixon awesomeness.

I wasn't saying you posted spoilers.
the scene you posted was part of it. "We have friends in this city"...
This scene takes place between leaving the CDC and getting to the Highway, in episode one.

The old folks home sequence from season 2 episode 1.

Pretty cool, can't see why it was cut. It actually added to the story, unlike the Sophia crap.
