I just think that the writers needed Daryl to end Merle, so they couldn't have the Gov shoot him in the head.

So does this mean Daryl won't be used to kill the Gov because he's already had a "big take down" or he will be the one for emotional revenge kill?

Well the gov knew others were coming. Leaving Zombie Merle there would be a pretty solid mind frick for them, and it's not like Zombie Merle would be a threat to him anymore.

I don't think Daryl ends up killing him, but I wish he would. I think it'll either be Rick, Andrea, or Michonne. But it would be cool as heck if Daryl but an arrow through his other eye.

Just caught up on my DVR. I don't think the Governor knew Merle would come back. Regardless, they couldn't have ended his character better.

My recording cut out before next weeks's preview was done. I assume there's a big battle at the prison next week? Even losing 8 men, the Governor has a significant numeric advantage. Defending their home turf will help, but still. It's gonna take some magic.

ETA:

Do we know for sure the Governor dies next week?

That shot looked like it was coming right before they hit the tire fricker uppers. The people in that vehicle are about to be exposed. Curious to see what Cutty and his woman decide to do.

I would hope, in a non spoiler thread, that nobody answers this.

I've got a feeling that Rick's crew won't be at the prison when the Gov and his crew show up. I know I wouldn't hang around there and get pinned up in there without a way out.

I think this is what's going to happen. Gov's gonna empty Woodbury and Rick's crew will take it over.

My point is, did the actor only sign up for one season? People are assuming the Governor bites it and we don't know that's the case.
