Underrated

Jim Carey does not get the respect he deserves because he one spoke from his anus.

That is all.

Disagree. People give it the credit it deserves.

I think it's a good movie.

Spoilers

The big plot hole is that his best friend guy wouldn't have agreed to live in a fake world for his entire life knowingly

I get chills just thinking about that scene where he has that slicer to his wife's throat in the kitchen, and she screams 'Do something!' and Truman is like 'Who are you talking to?' Ah, great scene.

this is the huge plot hole in the movie that made it completely unbelievable?

Neither did many child actors. I don't think this is really a plot hole, since within the context of the film, I'm betting that there is an actual community there that are just told they have to obey Truman's schedule and rules to live there. Betting his parents were some failed actors who tried to live through their kid.

And this film is probably in my top 20, so needless to say I absolutely love this film. It was truly a film ahead of its time and a show that I think summarizes extreme reality tv in the 2000s quite well.

No it's just the biggest one that's always bothered me

I've thought about this and it's possible. But really for the most part his classmates would've just gotten up and gone to school everyday like any other kid. And his neighbors and co workers and stuff would be able to go home if they didn't live there once he was in for the night. But his wife and friends are the ones who would really have to live in the fantasy world all the time

Jim Carrey gets plenty of credit. He has just been making crap lately, re: Mr. Popper's Penguins.

You are assuming that he had to be there 24/7.

He didn't.

The prison was basically only for Truman and maybe his wife.

The rest could float in and out.

And you do realize he didn't just "agree" to it.

If you want the unbelievable part of the movie: paying the salary of a thousand live in actors.

Its more really the wife and parents that are fricked than the friends. They just make vacations more frequent in Truman's world, when really they're spending a month or two in the real world.

What is the name of the music from the very end of the movie, kinda has a creepy vibe to it?
