what's also unfortunate, all of that footage Joe set ablaze too, probably some solid gold there

It’s one of the best things about it. Was it just a happy accident at first? How did some freak stumble upon owning tigers and having multiple wives

All I know is Joe Exotic had one of the most majestic Kentucky Waterfalls I’ve ever scene.
Overall the show was fascinating.

Somebody might have mentioned this already, but I sure would’ve liked to have seen what the hitman did with the 3k they gave him to go to Florida.
When they first interviewed him after that adventure he seemed to think it was out of the realm of possibility for him to be able to recollect his actions during the previous few days.
That wasn’t that baws first rodeo.

Jeff was the worst motherfricker in the whole thing IMO. Grade A con artist. Joe definitely put a hit out but Jeff goaded him into it while filming it all just so he could get him out the zoo. Plus he rocks skinny jeans and a leather jacket and beat the shite out of his ex wife. And the icing on the cake at the end was bragging over the hot nanny hes bringing in sitting next to his pregnant ole lady. That poor child. Dude needs his arse kicked, I have a feeling he’s eventually going to get his. The strip club owner is pissed he got fricked out of the new zoo and now has a vendetta against him
Solid doc. I still think The Pharmacist is the best I’ve seen but this one is up there. I hope Joe brings down a lot more with him. Started to feel bad for those tigers by the end. As they said you could tell at one point these people did care for these animals at one point but once the money started rolling they didn’t give a shite anymore. Sad

This series was one big example of Natural Selection not doing its job

I skimmed most of this thread and didn't see it mentioned, but in the first episode, I think, they did a map of all the places Joe sold tigers to and there was a mark just west of Baton Rouge. I've never actually been to the truck stop, but thought there would have been a mention here about it.
Enjoyed the doc. Watched it in two nights. Definitely going to recommend it to others.

Texas Monthly ran a long feature on Joe in 2019. It includes a few other interesting facts:
He was in his police cruiser when he crashed in the suicide effort.
I wondered how he survived living in Florida after he left the zoo. The article tells us:
He was going to interview at a hospital for a third job when he was arrested.
Joe had a couple of husbands/partners before John Finlay. One died of "an infection" at the zoo. The other, J.C., pulled a gun on Joe after he found a pic of a tiger with meat in his mouth and an inscription from Joe “J.C.’s remains” and “If you don’t get your shite together, this is gonna be your reality.” J.C. was arrested and never seen at the zoo again. He's now locked up for child molestation and murder.
John Finlay broke up with Joe soon after the 3-way wedding. He attacked Joe and was charged with assault and battery.
When Jeff Lowe first arrived, he was in a Hummer towing a trailer that had been owned by Evel Knievel. He once managed Evel’s son Robbie.
Re Jeff Lowe:
The feds were investigating Joe for wildlife crimes but started looking into the murder issue after a female employee of the zoo left a message warning Carol that Joe offered her a few thousand bucks to kill Carol.
Allen Glover got his teardrop tat while serving time in Louisiana.
A circus owner paid Joe to store some tigers in the off-season, but Joe's zoo was out of room. The zoo employee testified that is why Joe killed his 5 tigers. Joe admitted at trial that he shot them, but said it was because they were old and in poor health. He said euthanasia by gunshot was legal. And, “In twenty years I’ve had fifty plus tigers buried in that back pasture, and nobody gives a damn. Nobody.”

Re Jeff Lowe:

In 2007 he was sued by the musician Prince for allegedly selling clothes with Prince’s trademarked symbol on them. The next year, Lowe pleaded guilty to federal mail-fraud charges after he posed as an employee of a charity for domestic abuse victims to obtain $1 million worth of merchandise that he later resold.

I don’t mean to start any fights on here, but Joes music could easily pass for a top 10 current country song right now

Check the doc early on. There's a quick shot of Joe's very early iteration of a "talk show" There's a banner /screen(not sure) in the background of Tiger Truck Stop

I could def see them adding a second season like they did for Making a Murderer and the Staircase
Dig into Doc Antler more, especially since according to the doc he was raided in 2019.
