Clint Eastwood is overrated, from a directorial standpoint.

It's ok but I think there were 2 movies made that year that were better - Gump and Shawshank.

Not a huge knock considering Shawshank is one of the greatest movies of all time

There's parts of that movie that are outstanding-namely Swank. Her Mom, family, Danger and Freeman's narration were just corny as hell to me.

Well you know, people love him but I guess he isn't really regarded as an exceptional talent. His range consists of one character who wears a permanent scowl.

Skyfall should not be on this list, nor should Inception or SlumDog Millionaire. All were first rate movies, maybe not the GOAT but damn solid flicks. Daniel Craig puts a whole new angle on James Bond imo.

Agreed (upvoted)

and

2. Avatar

Cameron rightly occupies the top 2 spots, despite directing 2 of my favorite sequels of all time - Aliens and Terminator 2. And most of you know how badly I abhor sequels.

"Slumdog Millionaire" is definitely a good movie... enjoyable, no less.
If it's overrated or so, I don't know.

"The Departed" is just plain great: you must believe it's the best movie in the history of cinema, if you overrate it.
It's not the greatest movie ever made, but it's utter mastery...

I couldn't watch the whole "Inception", and "Amarcord" didn't impress me.

Funny...I don't see Citizen Kane on that list.
