I think Network does show its age. I strongly agree that Ikiru is overrated, but thought Videodrome was great.

I think my number 1 would be Tree of Life. You could also put the whole oeuvre of Scorsese on there for my money, and maybe the Godfather too. (Overrated meaning overrated, not that these movies are bad by any stretch)

9. Videodrome (1983)

How can it be overrated when most people have never even heard of it? If anything it's a very underrated movie.

Inception shouldn't be anywhere near this list.

Yeah, cuz Lord knows, Nolan can do no wrong.

On this board.

Yeah he can. The Dark Knight Rises wasn't that great.

I'm just saying that Inception isn't one of the Top 10 most overrated movies of all-time. It was a compelling movie with a pretty original concept. Don't think that makes me a Nolan fanboy.

I haven't been here long, but from what I've seen, Nolon is 50/50 on this board. A lot of people didn't like TDKR. I think it's fair to say Nolon can do no wrong with most movie critics.

Skyfall and Inception were shite. Million Dollar Baby was not interesting in the least. Did like The Departed though.

Agreed.

Horrible, insanely over-rated un-original movie.

I liked it better when it was called "Dances With Wolves".

IMO, Avatar was a fun visual experience, nothing more.

The Departed was another cop/mobster movie.

A lot of recent stuff on there.

That's how you know this is trolling.

Skyfall is the most overrated movie of all time?
That's not even possible, not because it's amazing, but because it just isn't that much of a cultural bombshell.

You don't hear people talking about it all the time like you do the Godfather or Star Wars.

Interesting to see Armacord, Ikiru and Videodrome on there. I agree with those to an extent. The rest I haven't seen or they were simply Oscar bait or overhyped on release. Inception is nothing more than vapid big budget fare, with some lofty ideas thrown in.

List
1. Skyfall (2012)
2. Network (1976)
3. Inception (2011)
4. Amarcord (1973)
5. Million Dollar Baby (2004)
6. Ikiru (1952)
7. Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
8. The Double Life of Véronique (1991)
9. Videodrome (1983)
10. The Departed (2006)

The movies in bold do not deserve to be on this list IMO. I haven't seen some of the others to comment further.
