Maybe because it is a medical show Scrubs doesn’t get the love on all time sitcoms lists but it was an amazing show. one of my favorites.

The only other hypothetical pairs of guys I can think of to make the same ad are Bill Murray & Harold Ramis because of Stripes, or Steve Martin & John Candy because of Trains, Planes and Automobiles.
If it was any other male combos, it wouldn't be funny.
If Heath Ledger was still alive, and they got he and Jake Gyllenhaal to do it, it wouldn't be funny, because their characters were gay.
My 93 year old dad thinks like you do. He's never seen an episode of Scrubs. I tried to explain it to him, but he wasn't having any of it.

My new, least favorite commercial is the "ROKU Screaming vs. Streaming" where the couple scream all the lines at the top of their lungs until they get a ROKU TV to mount on the wall---------------then all is well.
