Thank you Sal Saperstein!
I wonder if their liberal hollywood minds intended to make Sal unlikeable but ended up making him fricking amazing that everyone loves

Both excellent shows, but they are completely different and not comparable.

So which do you like better
Posted on 5/28/25 at 10:14 am to dallastiger55
Depends on what mood I'm in. There is comedy in YF&N, but it's not a comedic show per say. If I want yucks, I'll watch The Studio.

Wife and I are thinking of starting this or the Friends and Neighbors John Ham show
It's a solid show. My wife and I both enjoy it.
For the record, we started The Studio at the same time, and have not prioritized watching it.
We watch Your Friends and Neighbors within a couple days of the new episode dropping.

Why would you wonder this? Sal was routinely shown to be more competent than both his boss and his new rival. And having all of Hollywood repeat his name on TV after a moment of victory doesn't feel like some subtle way to get me to like him more. He's already beloved.

This show loosely reminds me of that 90's Robert Altman movie, The Player.
Pretty sure this was referenced in The Oner (Ep. 2).

How do you compare the two and which do you prefer?
I like Friends and Neighbors better but both are good

Wife and I just binged this last weekend and this is now my favorite show of 2025
I’m definitely hit or miss on Seth Rogen. Superbad is the GOAT but he also annoys me. For some reason, I liked him in this role. He’s not an overly laughing stoner guy.
What a cast. The whole Vegas arc had me LOL nonstop
Dave Franco needs to be a regular. Zoe was amazing as well. Cranston just give him the Emmy
Also, I can’t be the only one who thinks Quinn is a smoke show?

The episode where she was getting railed from behind.

Apple is more like HBO back in the day, quality over quantity
Netflix is like the networks, just throwing as much reality trash and dramas at the wall as possible and seeing what sticks

Would love to see this show outmatch Severance at the Emmys.
Could we see an actual Sal Sapperstein cameo?

As long as Hacks or The Studio beat The Bear I’ll be happy. The Bear isn’t funny!

YES! The Bears time is over.

2.5 episodes in. Holy hell this is funny.
Shrinking had some pretty good laugh out lough moments but I'm only a few in and I think I've laughed at this more than I have with any show in recent memory.
EP2 was legit painful to watch though. I was just wanting to scream at the tv to tell him to GTFO of the set. So well done but so cringe worthy.

Through 5 or 6 episodes now. This show is so good.
Sal is the absolute best. Freaking love his character. Think the funniest scene so far is when he went into the Ron Howard meeting trying to pretend he just lost a cousin as well and Howard ends up telling him about his cousins story and it brings Sal to tears. Sal comes back in the room and Matt is like "Have you been crying?" And Sal goes "Look man, when you lose a cousin you have to honor them!!"
I was dying.
Chinatown is an all time favorite movie for me, so loved that episode.
The doctor/childrens cancer episode was a good episode of TV with some LOL moments, but man Matt is pretty hard to watch at times. Can't really tell if they are trying to make him truly unlikable or just a loveable loser type. One minute he's cracking me up and the next I want to punch him.

This is great. Can't believe it took me this long to stumble across the show. Rogan and cast are outstanding.

Yea it's really really funny. ell worth a watch.
I started Platonic last night simply because this kind of made me like Seth Rogan again so giving his other Apple comedy a shot. First two episodes were solid with a couple lol moments.
