Yeah, I don't really like how he plays the same grizzled, tough man in every film either. I actually enjoy him more as a director than as an actor.

He's done some very good work over the past two decades, especially with Letters to Iwo Jima and Mystic River. I'll give him a pass on Space Cowboys though.

Yeah, Mystic River always slips under my radar as far as remembering Eastwood did it, I loved that shite. And I liked Million Dollar Baby. Gran Torino was very good too.........but that's all I got.

Maybe the reason I hate him or not really hate him but don't suck his dick like most white dudes my age is because I had an old drunk arse uncle named Joe and he thought he was Clint Eastwood. Anyway dude was like 60 and he stole my last beer from me when I was like 15(you know how hard beer is to come buy when you're that young)....when I said "thats fricked up" he got real mouthy with me and forced me to whip his old arse. True Story. Even my dad still laughs about this shite.

Yeah, I can't really relate to that. Joe sounds like a real winner though. It would have been great to have had him earlier in the Spike vs Eastwood discussion.

My roommate freshman year of college idolized Eastwood, too. Especially the earlier stuff like Dirty Harry, Fistfull of Dollars, and High Plains Drifter. Deep inside, I wonder if Clint hates those movies for typecasting him.

In his interviews, he doesn't come off like a wannabe hardass.

I don't know about athlete and that's a dam good question. I mean Jordan does have his own brand and he pretty much owns the best athletes of the past 8 or so years, I mean they are just his subsidiaries in a sense. But the most impressive mother fricker ever is Oprah. That bitch owns her own letter of the Alphabet. You have to ask permission to use "O" because of her? or pay like 50 G's.

Oh you have no idea. Joe was a Viet Nam vet and he has been crazy since before I was born. He got even crazier after I was hatched and he was always a stable in my household because my dad felt sorry for him. He was always jealous of my uncle Dub because he was a SEAL in Nam and did crazy shite but didn't get as psychologically fricked up as him, so they were always getting into it at the reunions. I ended up always throwing Dub up in Joes face and we'd end up arguing but never fighting until he stole my last beer at age 15. I beat his arse like he owed me money because technically he did.

I sometimes wonder that too, but having a cult following can't be that bad.

I don't see how anybody can think that Spike Lee is anywhere near as talented as Clint Eastwood.

Don't take this as an accusation of anything, I'm mostly curious... but I bet a lot of African-Americans would say the converse to this phrase.

I put Spike Lee in the same category as Oliver Stone. He's an awesomely talented director when his message doesn't get in the way of the movie.

I agree and same thing can be said about the South Park guys. That's just normal though once you get a voice people want to hear, you are bound to start saying the wrong shite.

Spike Lee has made at least 4 movies that I'd take over Clint Eastwood's.

You don't have to take them, they are in the $.99 rack at Blockbuster, but go ahead, who'd care.

I agree. I am a polar opposite view-wise from Lee and Stone yet I love their work. Oliver Stone is one of my favorites also. I hear he is making a movie on Pablo Escobar. I cant wait

As a director? Spike blows Eastwood out of the water. Were it not for Mystic River, it wouldn't even be close to a contest.

Damn, you're dumb. I mean really really dumb.

I have seen many of his films - She's Gotta Have It, Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Mo Betta Blues, Katrina Crap, Jungle Fever, etc.

Do the Right Thing and Jungle Fever was about racial problems going on in NYC in the 80's. Ask anyone that lives there about the race problems. Lee was pointing those things out at that time when he made those movies. Showing how racism was stupid coming from all sides blacks, whites, koreans, italians, etc. Racism was a problem in NYC in the 80's that's when Public Enemy blew up with the song "Fight the Power". Well they was popular before that song but that was one of their most popular songs.

I hope you don't think people are being just bitter about what happened 400yrs ago.lol. Remember what some people call the good ol 50's and 60's. It wasn't so good for A LOT of people living today that had family members killed, beaten, etc.

Are you serious. You are talking about a FEW blacks. Hell I can point out a FEW hispanics or Native Americans that are RICH and Successful that doesn't mean Hispanics and Native Americans have it made.lol.

Just because Obama is President you think that means racism is gone and everybody loves each other.lol. Seriously don't make me laugh.lol.
