re: Draft Ingram
Posted by TPN - da #1 Stunna on 1/9/11 at 3:58 am to xyz
The Saints do need defensive help at DT, DE & OLB without question, but the Saints should be flexible here if Ingram falls in thier lap.
This thinking that we have to get defensive help or bust is how mistakes are made in the draft. Jonathan Sullivan, Shawn Knight come to mind.
To me Ingram is an Emmitt Smith clone. I am not saying he will have the same career, but he can change the dynamics of your offense and take a ton of pressure off of Breesus. That thinking is what made Emmitt drop to #22 if I am correct in his draft class. He was too small and too slow. He transformed that team into a tough minded freight train on offense. Ingram can have the same type of effect.
Address the defense in free agency and the remaining rounds. Look for Jaquizz Rogers later and clip Reggie & Pierre if he doesn't come WAY off his price tag. Keep Ivory.

You could easily cut loose of Bush and pick up Jaquizz Rogers from Oregon St in the draft and essentially have the same player without all the injury history, and massive price tag.
Again, I am not blaming him for the loss. But, there is life without Reggie Bush. He certainly has value on our team, but costs way too much money for what he produces and is fragile. He is always hurt. You cannot give $8 or $11 million to someone that misses as many games as he does. I doubt very seriously he is on the team next year.
Oh, and this was his time to shine. He comes up lame in the game he is scheduled to produce big for us. Julius Jones a garbage heap retread RB was a much larger part of the gameplan than Reggie, and that was before he pulled up. Say what you want, but that is the facts. I think this speaks volumes that the coaching staff knew they couldn't depend on him and turned to J. Jones.

Agreed that Reggie was not the sole cause or reason for the loss. There is plenty of blame to go around. The defense was terrible stopping the run and Roman Harper was a victim all day by a washed up journeyman QB.
That said, Reggie is welcome back at a reduced rate (3.5 - 4 million due to his reduced role), otherwise cut him loose and get some help on defense.
We need starting DT, DE & 2 LB's. We should do our best too keep our offense intact. We need to keep L. Moore, D. Thomas, C. Nicks, and see what we can do to bring along Tennant and C. Brown as starters next year. If Pierre Thomas (said to want S. Jackson money?)doesn't get his contract demands straight we will also be in the market for a starting caliber RB. If we lose Bush & P. Thomas then I would love to see us get M. Ingram, otherwise we should look to draft LB / DT / DE in the first 2 rounds.

re: Which Fletch movie was your favorite? One or Two?

1st Fletch was WAY better. II was okay, but not in the same class. The original Fletch is one of my personal favorites.
As Gordon Liddy - I'm gonna need some Pennzoil 30wt ball bearings and some gause pads. No, make that Quaker State.
What do you need ball bearings for?
Don't tell me my business boy. Maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings now days.

Gotcha. Thanks.

Is Ingram on the roster? Did we IR him?
I know he was coming off a knee injury when we picked him up and he was rehabbing with Sharper in the beginning of the season, but what is his deal? Is he going to be able to help us at all this year?

The whole situation is just depressing. I think many are just starting to come to grips with how dire the situation really has become.
I do feel for the players. They are making the best of a bad situation, and completely caught in the middle this bitter battle between their coach and the fans. I will always cheer for the players.
Our coach however is a total baffoon.
Like I said, depressing.

re: We could def use a HB like Mark Ingram in the draft

Ingram will not be there when we pick. He is an outstanding back. He will be a great pro back. He is an Emmitt Smith style runner. He will go very early.
I have been pulling hard for the Saints to draft (in 1st round) or trade for a LB during the last 3 drafts. Think if we had Clay Matthews, how much better our LB crew would be. Our LB's have certainly been exposed as a weakness. TE's are kicking our arse this year.

Portman is very good. She was great in Closer. She was also excellent in The Professional.
Aside from the big budget Batman films, I disagree with you on Christian Bale too.
HOWEVER, the answer is Richard Gere, Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage FTW. Especially Richard Gere. He has been Zack Mayo in every movie he has ever been in.

If anyone has AT&T Uverse I am looking to find out how you like it. We just signed up but it has yet to be installed. It looks and sounds incredible.
It is going to be run on the 1st fiber optic network. Its 1080p. They bundle everything for you phone, internet, TV's, and give you a DVR on every box. They come in and set everything up for you and make sure it works with all your other components - like surround sound, etc.
The TV package is supposed to give you everything including The Sunday Ticket, Red Zone, Game Plan, and Center Court.
I am just curious if anyone already has it, and if you do, how do you like it compared to what you had previously.

P droppin wisdom as always.
If you aren't ok with the Pimps, you are a stiff.
If you think it makes LSU "look bad", then you take life way too seriously.
Having been on several trips, I can honestly say that it an incredile time. If you ever wanted to know what it would be like to be a rockstar for a day - this is it.

Good coaching? Where? Not it Baton Rouge at this present time.
I fully support the team. However, we need to be realistic. We are more than a year away. We may have the talent next year to win the West, but our QB play and coaching will prevent us from even getting close. Thanks to Miles' crack recruiting, we are still going to be struggling with J. Lee and J. Jefferson. No one is behind them.

Ivory broke 6 tackles on the play. One guy got straight up freight trained. Outstanding run. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he should have the Mike Bell roll. He runs HARD

Not mad at all. It's a stupid thing to be concerned about, and too many people are obsessive about it. Geez, get a fricking life.

Richard Murphy has a better chance of becoming the head of NASA than he does of winning this award. Get fricking real.
I like RM. But he has not done shite as an LSU Tiger. His biggest highlights have been in the spring game. The Doak Walker is for the top 2-3 elite backs in the country. Therefore, he has ZERO shot.

You people are a bunch of idiots. If our logo was a photo of your cock and balls it wouldn't change how we play on the field. GET OVER IT!! It is our current logo. It will run its course just like all the other silly arse logos before it. For people to go on and on and on about this stupid subject is ridiculous. How about worrying about the school and the product on the field. That is what is important.

She is not even remotely funny. Her voice and delivery are fricking horrible. I can't believe she gets paid a dime for what she does.
