Clint probably didn't cast blacks in Gran Torino because they couldn't handle the jokes, racism, ..... That's the problem with blacks, can dish it out but can't take a joke or some BS comments that don't mean squat

should have put that loser sign on me again. lol
now what i don't understand about black culture is, someone like Spike Lee, Pryor, or anyone black successful NEVER says "all you gotta do is work hard, ......" all you ever hear is how we got it bad.
If it were really bad, Obama wouldn't be president, Oprah the highest paid TV person ever, Jordan the highest paid athlete ever, ........
guess i gotta speak in parables, still won't matter.

I don't think he has near the talent of Eastwood, but Inside Man was good and showed Spike does have some talent.
Spike Lee has made at least 4 movies that I'd take over Clint Eastwood's.

both men are talented. i dont agree with all of spike's ideas but its not gonna stop me from watching his movies. its just entertainment for me.

FWIW, I think Tiger Woods' fortune makes Jordan's look like teaching wages.

Please indulge me - What movies of his do you like more than Clint Eastwoods?

Yeah I mean, I know I wouldn't get along with the mother fricker IRL, but I did love "25th Hour", "Summer of Sam", "He Got Game", "Do the Right Thing", "Clockers" and just got "Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop: We Cut Heads" recently and liked that.....that's the first thing he did back in the early 80's.
but yeah, strongly hated some of his movies too, he brought the racist cracker out of me somehow

guess you don't see the millions of people who wear j's and the deal with UNC and georgetown, and keep in mind when every Melo and CP3 comes out with a shoe that's just a branch off of the jordan product

So who is the highest if not Tiger or MJ in your opinion? Curious.
There is no bigger Jordan fan than me. I had the 1st edition Jordans when they first came out. I have tons of posters, games on DVD's, met him once at a golf tournament, etc. I follow him and his career pre and post NBA. Tiger is off the chart and has his hands in everything. Before it is all said and done he will be #1 in sports without question.

As I said earlier, both men have directed very good films. However, when you look at their entire body of work, Spike has some really weak films. And it isn't one bad stage, either. He has come out with crappy films in the late '80s (She's Gotta Have It and School Daze), the mid-90s (Girl 6), the late-90s (that movie on the Million Man March), and in the 2000s (She Hate Me).
And yes, I have seen all of those movies, except for the one about the Million Man March. Unfortunately.

and I know I would take a beating from a lot of the people on this board for saying this, but what the frick is so tough about Clint Eastwood? He has a 1 mph punch from the 70's and he looks like he's about to fall over and die whenever he talks. I'm not impressed. Sue me.
ETA: I can act better than Clint Eastwood and I've never even done a movie.

I'm sure you like those slow arse fist fights and whispers better than real shite that's really happening. That's cool though.
