Hell, I'm disappointed that it's an 89% audience score.

Honestly this movie was one of my least favorite movies I've seen in the past decade. As bad as it was, seeing win a Best Picture Oscar made it even more hilarious.

I've never known anyone that didn't have some sort of appreciation for the sandlot.

In this testosterone-intensive environment, the opposite sex is regarded with great wariness. For all of her troubles, Scotty's concerned mom (the sympathetic Karen Allen, making a limited return to the screen) gets a marble fired at her forehead; the local girls are all surrealistically older, hypertrophied Playboy pinup types; and the ultimate insult remains, "You play baseball like a girl!"
In "The Sandlot's" nostalgia for simpler times, a single-sex world seems to be a key component.
And this review was written by a guy.
In 1993! For the Chicago Tribune.
Jesus Christ, we live in scary times.

Does that dipshit not understand time setting?
The movie is set in the 60’s.
I mean Did that critic also get offended when they depicted slaves in “12 years a slave”?

Exactly.
Who wants to watch films that go back in the past with modern perspectives...that's the most ungeniune thing in films.
The film takes place in 1962 and from 1958 until her death in 1962...a Pin-Up was basically the biggest movie star on the planet. Marilyn Monroe.

My only goal in life in 1993 was to do Kelly Kapowski....and Wendy Peffercorn

Why do critics hate good movies?
They hate classic American movies that glorify the USA.

Any movie that makes America seem like a cool place will be shat upon by prescription-less glasses people

I'd have thought that The Sandlot was way too SJW for TD. I mean a black guy AND a hispanic guy? So much forced diversity.
I keeed. I keed.
