I still say Eli took out the reporter.

One of the best episodes of the series
It's weird, I thought it was the weakest episode to date. It almost seemed like there was a different director who doesn't understand subtlety. The barfing scene was kind of unoriginal and unnecessary. They leaned way too hard in Aunt Tiffany's reading struggles, too.

Pretty sure that episode was Jody Hill who directs and produces pretty much everything Danny McBride is in; he's also Levi in the show.

It just seemed like something in the direction was different from the other episodes.

He went wild at the Tanger outlet mall

That was probably my favorite quote of the episode. Just the way Judy says it makes it so funny. Its like he was saying all that and you just knew she was going to say something hilarious.

what do we think about the cut to junior's wrestling heel in the audience after jesse's "he's alone in room 527...and weak" (
) speech?

I caught that too. blonde guy with a beard? i was thinking that could be Harmon. Did anyone else notice this is happening in the future? The date on the screen is October 2022.

Red herring. If Junior had sent the bike ninjas he never would have sent that old wrestler.

And y'all...I'm watching Gemstones (all seasons, just got caught up) simultaneously with Succession, which I just finished Season 3. They are the same show. One is a drama and one a comedy. One is the trashy rich family and one is the pretentiously rich family. The contrast of watching them together is amazing!

This season is really good so far. My theory is the season is playing out like the first half of The Godfather.
Lissons are the killers. They killed the reporter because they cannot have the reporter hurting the gemstone empire. Then when Eli said no but the son said yes, they tried to kill Eli to clear the way for the funding needed. Like when they tried to take out the Don so they could deal with Sonny because he wanted in on the drug trade but Don said no. Lessons’ ministry is at the same point that Eli was in the throwback episode, not enough cash to fuel their growth. They had the same size theater as Eli did in the throw back episode. So they want the access to the cash of the Gemstones to catapult their empire. I do not think Eli killed the reporter because they made it a point to show the dad was the actual killer of the promoter and not Eli.

Amber is behind everything with the Lissons right?

Correct me if I’m wrong, I watched it pretty stoned but wasn’t it Macaulay Culkin as Harmon??
Posted on 2/20/22 at 9:41 pm to FreddieMac
Was that Macaulay Culkin?
