I've probably said it in other threads for this show but, I have to remind myself during each episode that the entire season unfolds during one shift in the ED.

Like the beef with Robby and Langdon. I kept thinking " damn! Robby isn't over this shite yet? It's been like 12 episodes!".

I think they’re setting it up for season three being a night shift. Way too much screen time and character building the last half of this season to be a coincidence.

You can clearly keep the main players from day shift as involved as necessary to keep them relevant. On either end of the shift and called in for help.

After all the tribulations throughout the season, it's easy to forget that Louie had died just that same morning.

Yea, I could see Season Three straddling the last few hours of night shift and then the handover to day shift.

Will be interested in seeing what they use as the plot device to make the shift "special." There can't be a mass shooting or huge cyber-attack every few months.

Blizzard.

A few of the introduced night shifters make it in, a lot of day shifters get stuck.

Writers who want to make political ish points can get their shots in with homeless being out in the snow/cold.

Saw Abbot on an old episode of Law & Order last night. Young punk helping a psycho daughter kill her mom.

I'd prefer if they just kept it more realistic with common everyday events. I hate when shows are always centered some major event or crisis situation. We can get plenty of drama with routine stabbings, shootings, car wrecks, etc.

That actor is everywhere. He's even listed on an episode of ER in 2006

Interesting Tidbits

quote:

Both seasons of HBO's The Pitt featured an ensemble of complex characters and also featured the tragic deaths of patients in the Emergency Department. While a majority of the Season 1 cast returned for Season 2, not every reappeared, and based on various clues about how Season 2 would end, there was a lot of speculation that even some beloved characters could meet a tragic end before the season concluded. Most of those theories didn't end up being true, though the creative team did confirm that Supriya Ganesh, who plays Dr. Mohan, wouldn't be in Season 3.

There was a significant time jump between Seasons 1 and 2, though creator of the series, R. Scott Gemmill, recently confirmed with TVLine that Season 3 will only take place roughly four months after Season 2. While there was early speculation that Noah Wyle's Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch might not survive his planned motorcycle trip, Gemmill revealed this wasn't the case, and Dr. Robby will be in Season 3. He also shared that we can expect Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball), Dr. Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif), Dr. Melissa "Mel" King (Taylor Dearden), Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones), Dr. Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell), and Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) to return in Season 3.

Also returning will be Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) and Emma Nolan (Laëtitia Hollard). Joy Kwon (Irene Choi) and James Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson), who both made their debut in Season 2, could potentially appear, though Gemmill didn't outright reveal their involvement. Ayesha Harris, who plays Dr. Parker Ellis, has been promoted to a series regular, as the creator clarified the character would leave the night shift for the day shift and Season 3 will still unfold during the day.

Based on this roster, it doesn't sound as though we'll be saying goodbye to many significant characters just yet, but with the large list of charismatic figures, there's still plenty of question marks next to characters and their returns. With the final episodes of the season showing Dr. Al-Hashimi revealing that she struggled with seizures, despite the whole season setting her up to take over for Dr. Robby, this marks the biggest surprise return. Before the season concluded, she suggested that there would always need to be two attendings in the event that she suffered a seizure, with Gemmill explaining to the outlet, "She has to figure out what she can do to allow her to continue to practice medicine, and whether there's a clear-cut pathway through that or not." In regards to her suggestion of two attendings allowing both her and Dr. Robby to return next season, Gemmill admitted, "Exactly."

Even with all of the theories of the tragic events that could befall beloved characters, luckily, none of those came to fruition. Even with Dr. Mohan not appearing in Season 3, Gemmill explained how the nature of the show, and how it only takes place over the course of one day, is the main reason Dr. Mohan won't appear. The creator discussed:

"Due to the nature of a teaching hospital, a lot of people move on. That's part of the fabric of the show. One of the reasons we did a four-month jump was so we didn't have to move everyone out. We love these actors, we love writing for them, and the audience enjoys them, so it's bittersweet when we have to see someone leave, but it's part of the process. She struggled a little bit, and that's part of the reality of medicine — some people do better than others. She's very good at connecting with patients, but she doesn't move as quickly as is expected these days in the ER."

With only a four-month time jump, Gemmill explained that Dr. Mohan would still be in her final year of residency, but revealed that "she's just not working that day."

His mental breakdown continues in the off season and he comes back in season 3 as a patient on a 72 hour hold.

Jason Alexander is a Tony winning Broadway song and dance man. His most famous musical performance is his flat, off-key take on "Believe It or Not" on George Costanza's answering machine.

IDK night shift is usually much more tame in hospitals. You wouldnt be having all the administrator bs and other stuff they've been dealing with. Them dudes dont work nights.
