You don’t feel a shred of emotion and empathy when you see a real tape of 4 children finding out their mom was just shot and killed through a door?
Right after the shooting the cop goes over to the older kid and ask are you hurt. Crying he responds “No, but my heart is broken.”
Man that was so sad.

When they came back the 2nd time she was doomed without a lawyer.
When they came back the second time, she was going to be arrested no matter what she said, they made that clear. They told her based on her first interview (which was very brief), talking with witnesses, and the attorney general that they were arresting her. She could have had a lawyer there with her and said nothing and she was going to jail. Deservedly so.
It’s always smart to lawyer up, guilty or innocent. But she did very little to incriminate herself.

No question had she just minded her business and let the kids play in the empty lot none of the shite would have escalated. I believe after calling the cops a couple of times the kids were probably encouraged a little to antagonize her. They obviously ended up on her property at some point because how else would she have gotten the roller skate or the tablet? She was a bitch but I doubt she went over and just took those items from the kids. Not saying what she did was right, but try to put yourself in her shoes. I know if someone is beating down my door threatening to kill me, I’m strapping up and calling the police. I believe had they found evidence of Ajike beating the door like a damaged deadbolt or door frame, Susan beats the case. I don’t think Ajike was beating on the door like Susan claimed, I do believe she was on the porch threatening to beat her arse if she didn’t give back the kid’s tablet. I think Susan realized she fricked up and got scared and shot through the door thinking she was covered under the stand your ground law.

No interest in race baiting stuff that Netflix puts out

It was produced by Soledad o'Brien so it was clearly race baiting. However, that old lady was mean as hell & she 100% knew that woman wasn't beating her door down. She got mad & shot her thinking stand your ground would exonerate her.

The Karen will spend the rest of her life in prison for what probably amounted to premeditated murder but of course Netflix pushes this agenda anyway with the stand your ground law… The whole statistic about increase in white on black homicides from 8% to 11%
Of course they ignore the ratio of white on black vs black on white homicides and then when you factor in per capita their whole agenda falls apart. No justice no peace yet she got what she deserved, justice was served so can you chill tf out with the race baiting.. absolutely not! That’s Netflix for you. They’re disguting and would prefer to push division. They’d have been happier with a result of her being found not guilty so they could really stoke the flames tbh

Exactly, if you do something shady AF don’t answer a damn question without a lawyer present period.
Lady is a complete POS btw

She's insane. She started a bunch of the shite herself, example setting her truck alarm on, throwing stuff at them. And she rammed a gate and destroyed it and went home. There's been a few posts online that she was on heavy meds. Not sure if that contributed to her mental illnesses but she's crazy.

If anything, her staying out of jail gave her a false sense of security. She thought she had a chance and spoke freely with police. Maybe that wasn’t the plan of the cops, but it worked out pretty well for them and for justice.

Oh shite. They pulled “The Wire” tactic… tried to get her to write a letter to the kids. Wooooww.

It stated stand your ground laws increased monthly homicide rates by 8-11%, not what you stated. They did note something about stand your ground cases and the racial makeup of those cases.

That crazy white lady was disgusting. EVIL woman. She murdered that lady plain and simple.
Netflix took the opp to make it more racial than it needed to be though.
A worthy watch. Those poor kids.

Think there was a bias???

I completely agree. Great film on its own merit- minus the Stand Your Ground racial agitprop. But they just couldn’t help themselves.
Also- frick that Karen.

It's Netflix so everything is minority focused, if not heavily leaning.
The whole premise of the documentary was to show how stand your ground laws are stupid.
It was absolutely slanted.

Been going back and forth on whether or not to watch this, will probably check it out once I'm done with my next few shows.
Always the sign of a miserable person. Gets pissed when kids find a safe place to just be kids; yet probably sits with friends bitching about how kids spend too much time indoors in front of a screen.

Interesting watch, because I've also just finished listening to the "Camp Swamp Road" podcast about the Scott Spivey stand your ground case in South Carolina.
In that podcast, the policeman buddy of Weldon Boyd is recorded saying, "You're lucky the guy was white, if he was black it would have been a whole other issue." or something along those lines. Which I thought was an interesting perspective (albeit, not born out by statistics from what I've been able to tell).
Anyway, I thought the Netflix show, while clearly anti-Stand your ground and pro racial justice, actually did a good job of not hitting a lot of the stereotypical "race baiting" that they could have. It showed the, mainly white, cops as "good guys" who were supportive of the community and the minority kids. It showed the mixed race neighborhood as a wholesome place where people largley get along. It basically showed that this lady was an unhinged racist outlier, not part of some larger systemically racist system (though it did have the race-based statistic at the end that does point to potential injustice in Stand Your Ground laws).
Anyway, the thing that bugged me about the Spivey case was that if Weldon Boyd would have ended up getting shot and killed instead of Spivey... then Spivey would have likely gotten off as well. Its almost like the "winner" of the gun battle gets to write the story of how things went down.
All that being said: I can't believe Weldon Boyd's dumbass was recording everything on his phone during that entire period of time and that it all got subpoenaed. So freaking wild.
