There is one thing I don't think has been brought up enough in this thread: Alan Dershowitz is an ugly, ugly man. Seriously, look at the guy:

They could have mentioned that Garcetti won reelection in 1996 but then lost in 2000. They made it appear he lost because of the OJ trial.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I was honestly shocked when I read he was reelected. Seems that would guarantee you wouldn't be reelected.

Regardless Garcetti should have taken the high road like Darden and Clark and resigned over it. Instead he stays in like scumbag Ito.

It's absurd that Cochran championed minority rights based on what he did in that trial. I like what Darden told him at the end (about never leaving the community) because he was exactly right.

I'd forgotten that Ito allowed OJ to speak. What an extreme idiot. I'm surprised he didn't let the jury hear it, too. It's hard to describe how bad Ito was.

Ito singlehandedly lost the trial for the prosecution. That trial should have lasted 3 maybe 4 months tops, but he let the defense do anything for the name of ratings and drama. Ito would have made a great producer, but the a-hole should have gone that direction and not into law.

Ito is utterly despicable, and really hope he finally opens up about the trial after this. He's the only person involved in all this who hasn't spoken to the press since the verdict (aside from minor quibbles, but not the case itself). I'd fricking love for Howard Stern to interview him and to rip him to shreds.

EDIT: Speaking of that, that is a disappointment that they didn't follow Ito at all after the judgement. They should have at least had him pound a bottle of saki and get shite faced at his desk over failing humanity at large.

He'll probably write a book eventually.

This trial should never have been televised. Another grave error as much as I loved watching it.

It's not ANOTHER grave error. It's THE grave error. Cochran was trying to escalate the situation as much as humanly possible for the public, and he wouldn't have been able to do so as effectively without the cameras. Take the cameras out of the court room, the trial is 2 months shorter.

OM in his self righteousness can't seem to grasp that none of us think OJ was innocent and none of us are defending him as some hero, as he continues to intimate.

I for one don't think OJ killed them but he knew who did and he was there. He is a filthy POS wife beater and he helped someone (his son, most likely, imo) get away with brutally murdering the mother of his children.

The TV show was great but there was no ocean of evidence as Marcia called it and if you read through this thread there is ample factual discussion of some of the glaring holes in the prosecution's case.

To the posters doubting that these people exist, Idiot #1 ladies and gents.

And if you're so sure of your convictions, go find the Goldmans and tell them this. I'm sure they'd be indebted for you finding the murderer of their son.

But really, I bet you'd puss out real quick. I assure you I wouldn't hesitate to call OJ a murderer to his face.

He did. Flavor Flav now owns the original.

This. Ito just retired last year. He'll have a book out about his career (including a major chunk about OJ) within 5 years.

You're an example of the venom this trial spewed. Name calling isn't necessary. This case had plenty of ours for any jury and OJ was a beloved celebrity. I honestly don't believe a half white jury would have found him not guilty AT THAT TIME beyond a reasonable doubt. They didn't know everything we all know now or what was known during the civil trial as well as the lower burden of proof. OJ got his, though.

That being said, I watched a "where are they now" show Oprah did on the trial over the weekend. She thought he was guilty FYI. Anyway, Darden said he couldn't finish what he was going to say at the podium because if he had, he felt he would have been lying just like OJ and Furhman. Interesting since he was about to say he was honored to have worked with the team.

He's never addressed any of the evidence especially the blood in this thread, he takes what the prosecution said from day 1 as Gospel and calls the defense and their experts and lawyers who ripped apart the State, just theories and idiots... Despite disproving half the self proclaimed mountain of evidence.

Prosecution didn't lose this case, the evidence did...because if you watched the real trial every tiny piece - wasn't a hammer, it all added up to reasonable doubt as each piece mattered less once the entire story was told ...in fact, the prosecution had lamer explanations for their own evidence (see bloody socks) than the defense did for their contrary evidence.

This story isn't about guilt, it's about reasonable doubt... Thats the whole point of our system...

They're a lot of guilty people not in prison and tons of not guilty people in prison. We shouldn't be putting people in prison became we just think they did it...unless the State proves it...beyond dog barks and dabbed stains and DNA evidence that got obliterated on cross.

Don't get me wrong. I think he did it. I've said before that once the pic of the shoes was found I had zero doubt.

However, I'd sure like to know how there wasn't more blood on the Bronco or at Rockingham. That doesn't change my mind. I'd just like to know.

That was a great mini series... I thought I would hate it, being Paulson was cast as Marsha and I cannot stand her.

I was young when all of it went down, but a lot of it brought back memories of things going on I didn't fully understand at the time. And from the fact checking I have been watching, it sounds like the series did a great job of staying truthful for the most part.

I have no doubt that OJ was involved and its a damn shame that the jury decided to make this decision a political one. I know OJ wrote the book "If I had done it" where he basically admitted to the crime, but I don't think his ego lets him die without admitting it in the end. I think on his deathbed, he will take credit with the mindset of "See, how great I am, I was obviously did it and was able to walk".
