Agreed. I usually appreciate OMs take on this board but he's called people idiots many times in this thread. Gotten a bit ridiculous.

Regardless Garcetti should have taken the high road like Darden and Clark and resigned over it. Instead he stays in like scumbag Ito.

Why? They had no control over some of the more damaging aspects of how the trial went, eg, Fuhrman's past, the dna blunders, Ito's incompetence or the way Cochran was able to inflame the race issue. I think Clark and Darden resigning was more just burn out and disgust with the system, not because they did anything wrong.

He had one major, major blunder: not doing the trial in Santa Monica. Doing it in LA was a huge mistake.

I read that Katrina will be the topic next season for this American Crime Story series. If they do as well with it, should be interesting.

IMO Ito gave the defense a lot of leeway because Ito knew the evidence was overwhelming and he wanted everyone to say OJ received a fair trial.

To the posters doubting that these people exist, Idiot #1 ladies and gents.

And if you're so sure of your convictions, go find the Goldmans and tell them this. I'm sure they'd be indebted for you finding the murderer of their son.

But really, I bet you'd puss out real quick. I assure you I wouldn't hesitate to call OJ a murderer to his face.

They were involuntary celebrities when this trial was over, so in addition to being burned out, they had options and opportunities. Clark said in an interview that she wanted to live life for a while, be with her kids. Neither of them resigned because they did anything wrong. I would have been surprised if Garcetti resigned his office over this trial. That would have been a dumb move on his part from a public relations standpoint.

Same with Ito. Does anyone really think he would have been dumb enough to resign over this case? He may have been a crappy judge, but he wasn't that dumb. He played it exactly as he should have short of taking some big time money making options which would not have violated ethics rules. He stayed under the radar, said very little, if anything at all, and moved on. He sure didn't want to have to answer anything about the trial and remaining a judge protected him, pretty much, I would imagine. He may write a book now that he's retired, but at the time, the last thing that man wanted to do was talk to the media about that case.

Trial was lost on venue and jury selection. Clark just wanted women on the jury. She needed white women.

The show's finale wound up making black people look pretty stupid.

What do the jurors know, my friend's brother's wife's boss once got OJs autograph and he knows OJ is guilty!

This thread is pretty much shite thanks to people arguing over contrived points of view. I feel like that should have been a separate thread so the actually show could be discussed. It was one of the best mini series I've seen.

I know he is found not guilty but they still had my heart racing right before it was read

Most of the acting was terrific. I just never could buy into Cuba as OJ, though. Travolta bugged me. David Schwimmer turned out way better than he started out as Kardashian. I could hardly tell who the real Darden was. Same with Ito. Paulson was really great as Clark. Garcetti wasn't on enough to matter.

Does anyone have links to the actual people portrayed on the show and their thoughts on the series? Specifically the Goldmans and OJ.

Google the show. I read an interview with Marcia Clark on it earlier today. I don't think Fred Goldman has commented. Darden hasn't said much. I saw him asked. I'm not sure if he watched. He hadn't on the show I saw. I think Kim Goldman may have said a few things, but not much.

The Goldmans weren't looking forward to it thinking it wouldn't be respectful of Ron's memory treating him as a footnote once again and making OJ the star. I think if those were their objections, they may have been pleasantly surprised, although still ridiculously uncomfortable for them to watch.
