Comes out August 9

100%(7 Reviews) on RT

quote:

LaBeouf holds the screen with natural allure, making every twinge of his character's self-reproach, and every instant of his dawning joy, achingly felt. His nuanced performance propels this journey.

quote:

By keeping the humor rooted in the performances and only letting sentimentality creep in when necessary, Nelson and Schwartz have crafted a film that feels refreshing, unique, and emotional.

quote:

The Peanut Butter Falcon may not reinvent the wheel, but the relationship at the core of the film and the stellar performances by LaBeouf and Gottsagen will melt your heart.

I came upon the trailer last night... I thought it was some ultra low budget thing at first, but then name actors kept popping up. (I'm sure the budget was still very low, though)

As it went on, I kept thinking "This actually looks great."

LeBouf is actually an incredibly charasmatic actor and it seems he will shine in this.

Add the real kid with Down's in there and it really does feel like some kind of Mark Twain tale as the trailer says.

It reminds me a lot of Mud and Sling Blade or even something like The Apostle. 20 yrs ago it would be an Oscar sleeper, bug I don't know now.

All I know is, I will seek it out if it comes near me in theaters. The whole family could go. I'm glad this was made.

I really want Shia to make a big comeback. I think he’s a fantastic actor in the right roles.

I got a pretty good laugh out of the rules interaction. I’ll definitely be seeing this.

Hollywood continues to show they know nothing about guns. I have seen hundreds of guns shot of all sizes by all skill levels and have never seen anyone fly backwards like that.

You are very right. I think Shia is a very underrated actor that gets shite on because of his stupidity outside the screen at times. But idc what he does in his personal life. He has been fricking brilliant in several different roles ive seen of him.

Eagle Eye
American Honey
Disturbia
Fury
Charlie Countryman
Holes

Shia is an underrated actor. People get too distracted by his politics and his "antics", but the dude can act.

as others have already said, Shia LaBeouf is insanely talented and clearly has some demons but they tend to go hand in hand.

Brilliant people tend to be a bit (or a lot) on the crazy side.

Shia is a great example.

Such the provocateur, the author dazzles us with his eloquent phrasing and dexterous word sequencing. His unabashed writing style is utmost alluring.

I heard Shia knocked out Tom Hardy on the set of Lawless. He played Bane around this time.

Shia fricking LeBeouf knocked out BANE.

That didn’t happen, fyi. They got in a fight, but no one knocked anyone out.

I thought I might have heard somewhere that he got in a motorcycle wreck and hasn't been the same since. As everyone has said, he's a great actor. He's even good in the Sia music video for the song Elastic Heart.

Shia did knock him out, as was confirmed by Hardy himself

Wrong

quote:

Speaking to Den of Geek in 2011, Hardy recalled, “[LaBeouf] knocked me out sparko. Out cold. He’s a bad, bad boy. He is. He’s quite intimidating as well. He’s a scary dude.” The actor added of his co-star, “He just attacked me. He was drinking moonshine. I was wearing a cardigan and, er, went down.”

I just wanted to add “A Guide to Recognizing your Saints” is quite possibly Shia’s best performance. Incredible acting all around and a great representation of NYC in that time period.
