Yes, Robert Powell as Jesus. I think it is broken into two parts.

Passion of the Christ falls into the "one-time watch club" with 12 Years a Slave and other similarly disturbing movies.

Valentine's Day movie it is not

Skip. It's pretty boring.

This has to be a troll post. I wasn’t bored by it at all. It’s still more watchable and enjoyable than any of the half-assed cookie-cutter cash-grab Netflix/Disney garbage that comes out now.

It is brutal, but it is the one of the most powerful movies ever made... even if you're not a Christian.

I struggle with religion, and I watched most of that movie with tears in my eyes.

It's an amazing and tough watch.

Yes, go see it, but make sure to see the director's cut, cuz the blooper reel at the end is hilarious!

This movie and the lead up was viral before we knew what it was. I did a lot of grassroots supporting with memorabilia the POTC team would send you to help promote it. Even got a thank you voice mail from MG. It was pre-recorded but that was neat for the early 2000s. Great movie, tough watch.

It’s a fantastic film to watch only once. Never had a desire to watch a 2nd time. Film had its intended effect on the first viewing.

The scene in the garden when Lucifer starts to seriously consider that the man he is talking to might be more than just a man… yea, elite movie making.

Right, but specifically when the devil (played by a woman… just sayin…) says, “who is your father? Who are you?”, I find that scene to be set up perfectly… the blue color of the scene, the moonlight representing God… powerful.

The lighting in the film is what makes it so good. Mel intended for the lighting and cinematography to be as artistic as possible. When you’re making a film from a time period where there was little to no written records, no way to document what life was like, and the only source of light was flames, it opens up more creativity for the director in terms of artistic vision. That’s the beauty of this movie. All of the other Jesus films fail in this aspect.

It's important to watch, as John Paul II said after viewing the film, "it is as it was".

Watch it. Mel Gibson is working in Part II. Just beware that it is kind of a horror film. Extremely gory.
