Hit 1990s teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 is staging a comeback. A reboot featuring a number of original cast members including Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris is being pitched to broadcast and streaming networks with multiple buyers interested, sources said.

I hear the scripted project from CBS TV Studios features most of the original cast but is not a traditional reboot. I hear the new Beverly Hills, 90210 comes from writers/executive producers Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini, who worked on the CW’s 90210 reboot and on Spelling’s series So Notorious, as well as CBS TV Studios-based Ghen Maynard, who has a relationship with Spelling and Garth and executive produces the new series.

who would think Luke Perry would be the only one with an acting job right now and I wonder if they will bring back that old lady that was in their class?

Why does Tori Spelling have money troubles? Shouldn't she have some of her dad's money by now? This sounds lame but they gotta eat.

I doubt Spelling has money troubles.

Shannon on the other hand?

Reportedly, she does. I don't know how though, maybe it's just BS but I'd take her involvement in this as additional confirmation.

We've all seen a million movies where early 20's actors played teenagers.

Daniel was 23 years old in Karate Kid.

But she was 35 years old.

She's on some weird arse crusade to make it illegal to show actors' ages on sites like IMDB.

quote:

In a guest column for the Hollywood Reporter, Carteris, 55, is pushing lawmakers to pass legislation that would remove actors’ ages from casting websites like IMdB and StudioSystem.

“It is time to stop the ageism that permeates Hollywood’s casting process,” she writes. “This problem exists for all performers, but most distinctly for women. Performers create characters and often employ illusion to do so. That’s acting.”

Carteris says that if the casting websites that studios use today existed back in 1990, she never would’ve had the chance to earn her role on Beverly Hills, 90210. Though she was 29 at the time, Carteris was asked to audition and won the role of 16-year-old Andrea Zuckerman.

“What worries me is that my fellow actors are not being afforded the same opportunities today – actors who are trying to make a living and find their big break,” she says. “They face blatant age discrimination every day as websites routinely used for casting talent … force birthdates and ages on casting decision-makers without their even realizing it.”

Battling cancer.

Ian Ziering has the Sharknado movies and he was just cast in one of the DC streaming shows. I think Tori Spelling was cut out of her dad's will or got very little from it.

Even Jennie Garth, who held onto her hotness well into middle age, has fallen onto hard times and made a bad decision to get a huge leg tattoo.
