I have been harping on this season quite a bit. With that said, this episode was probably my 2nd favorite (1st being the last) episode of the season. The final 10 minutes made it for me. The first part was kinda slow, but I thought it did pretty well to show how emotionless the people are.
Of course all this enjoyment is going to go right out the tubes because that dumb bitch deciding to forget how to look at a map and drive at the same time. Its one thing if a plot line involves someone worth watching, but at this point she is just the annoying character that I can't stand anymore. Like someone said earlier, I could see them wasting a few episodes dealing with the situation.
I hope they continue strong after this weeks ending, but judging from the first half of the season, this probabaly wont happen.

I agree with some that the first 45 minutes of that episode was pretty damn slow. There were a few ridiculous things as well as also mentioned: Dale knowing exactly what Shane did to Otis and Lori going after Rick to bring Hershel back. That is what they were doing in the first place, you dumb bitch.
The last scene was great. Great tension and Rick handled it like a boss and the only way that it could be.

The last ten minutes were great but damn it if you are going to have Michael Raymond-James guest star keep him around longer. Someone give him a new tv series.

Agreed. I was watching it with my wife. We both agreed that is was completely stupid, but I was thinking to myself that it seemed like something my wife would do. Except for the map part. She wouldn't even attempt to read a map.
I loved it when Daryl called her Olive Oil. Seriously, she needs to some twinkies.

I just felt like it was lazy writing mostly. Get some other excuse for her to go find them or go to town.

Because it was funny. And as someone pointed out, it shows how desensitized the characters are to the zombies by this point. An arm falling off is no big deal. I actually liked the character beats, though Dale is beginning to become way to pollyanaish (and he was my favorite character). When Lori tells you to stop whining, you know you're whining too much.
I loved that final scene. Loved it. Wonderfully tense, and you just knew it was about to go down, and that there will be reprecussions in the future. I also like slow builds, and this whole episode built to this moment. It wouldn't have worked if it was nonstop action.
Becase the world WOULD move slower and at a more laconic pace. Sure, there's the constant fear and dread, but the pace would certainly slow down in real life without modern technology. I love the slow pace and feel that's how the zombie world should be shot -- though amdittedly, you don't need to spend ALL season looking for a girl. that took the concept too far.

Forgot about Dale. He is seriously starting to annoy the shite out of me. Still love Shane's and Rick's characters though. And hopefully we get more badass Daryl being a badass next episode

A lot of y'all are saying that Hershel is still going to kick Rick and the rest of them off his farm, but I think you all are missing the point. What Hershel realized is that he was lucky to encounter Rick and the rest of them; who are kind enough people to "ask" to stay at his farm. He now sees that civilization has turned people to not take no for an answer and will, if necessary, kill you to take it.

Yeah, the timing was the dumbest thing. Rick wasn't even in town yet when she decided someone needed to go find him. She didn't have any new info or anything.
It looks Rick will be held up in the bar for a while, so the writers could have at least let some time pass before having her get so concerned that she goes out on her own.
I also thought the farmer's daughter acted irrationally here. She didn't want Glenn going out? It was to find her father. Based on what we have seen thus far from her, her more natural reaction would be to insist on going with them.
Other than those two really irrational reactions, I really liked the episode, and loved the bar scenes.

What did Dale mean when he said, "I've known men like Shane. He is going to kill again"?
Dale is about the right age. I think at some point it is going to come out that he was a Vietnam vet and a serious badass who was changed by the war. At some point he'll do something that will surprise everyone with how hardcore it is because none of them know his past.

I will give you the scene with the arm. I sort of liked that and it was one of the few decent moments in the first 45 minutes of the episode. I will even give you the pacing. However, if you are going to move at a snails pace your character have to not suck balls and they have to not have conversations about "being the leader." The dialogue has to be snappy and/or you have the have charismatic actors that you give a crap about.
