Star Wars needs to go to a more dark and sinister route IMO

Disney buying SW was both the best and worst thing for the universe.
They were the only ones to have the capital and foundation to build the franchise back up and truly expand the universe for all demographics every year
The downside is that they will almost for sure never give us the dark gritty movie that we want

I was just like your son when I first watched these movies at about 4. I remember crying the first few times I watched Vader die.

Very much agree. I just need to find a way to become in charge of Disney.

Yeah, Rogue One was nothing but butterflies and rainbows

Supposedly there is concept art of the original cut with Vader holding a saber and a decapitated head in the other hand
Yeah I remember reading something early in the process about concept art involving Vader interrogating the rebels by ripping their limbs off one by one using the Force. That would've been something

From Making Star Wars (a SW leak site that is usually accurate) back in January
quote:
'The action sequences filmed are unknown, but there was work pitching the different ways Darth Vader could kill rebels on a battlefield with the Force and his lightsaber. The storyboard “pitches” showed decapitated rebels, people being dismembered by Vader throwing his sword and using the Force, levitating bodies to make human shields, and so on. The art was more violent than what we’ve seen Darth Vader do on screen before.'

Honestly, how ridiculous is the ANH duel now?

It exploded.

That battle is still the goat though
Especially the dialogue

Don't be a dunce. Read the above leak someone quoted that shows what Disney is choosing not to do

I just did. That would never happen on anyone's watch though, Lucas included.

It would happen on my watch.

If you look on the spectrum of PG to that twisted leak, Disney is going to error on the PG side of things is my point.

I want them to make KotOR into a big screen movie. it is an old game but i bet the reveal in that would be as big as "I am your father" to the masses

Yeah, KotOR seems like a logical one to do. Should perfectly adapt to the big screen.

I think it will take awhile before they get that far from the original series.
I imagine they wait for even the casual Star Wars fan to have a more firm grasp on the universe before completely throwing htem off by going millennia back in the past
