GT is not canon to the actual series. Akira Toriyamo, the creator of Dragon Ball had absolutely nothing to do with GT. It's considered an alternate universe and the events of GT don't have any effect on Super or any movie made after.
If you want to go the non-canon route, you should google Dragon Ball Multiverse. It's an extremely well made and still running fan-made comic where characters are taken from several different alternate DB universes and put into a tournament with each other. A lot of fun.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Great Saiyaman 
Gohan was far and away my favorite character as a kid. He was such a badass during the Cell Games and as Mystic Gohan. I'll never get over what a bitch they turned him into

Yeah I was stoked when he got his shot at dabura like "yes we get to see some ss2 epicness again" but then I was like "can he even go ss2 anymore?" Lol. Can't beat the cell games the build up to it with gohan and goku walking around as super saiyan is what made it so epic IMO

Just finished episode 36, Vegeta vs Magetta. Next weeks episode looks amazing tho!! Vegeta vs Cabba.

Been a slow few weeks. Basically 2 episodes per fight, and each fight has been over really quickly. Been fun overall though.
I'm looking forward to Goku/Vegeta vs Hit. Will be awesome. Whatever Hit did to his teamamte(avoiding spoilers) looked completely nuts.

Dude, Vegeta set it off vs Magetta! That Final Flash was legit.
The Magetta fight was pretty damn good. I think better than the Botamo/Frost fights.

Episode 37 was kind of a let down. I thought for sure Cabba would give vegeta a tougher fight than that. Sure Cabba said he didn't know if the super saiyan transformations, but I thought the saiyans in his universe would at least have some sort of power up. The fact Vegeta could knock him out with a single punch was disappointing. Although it was cool that the saiyan prince took the young saiyan under his wing sort to speak. But next episode with Hit finally fighting, looks amazing.

I'm starting to think they are setting Gohan up for something in the future. I know he turned down going, but even as he was, he was still stronger than Buu.
I also think Goku figured something out in his three years in the chamber. We've all kind of forgotten about that. It wouldn't be the first time he trained with someone in there, and then surprised them with his strength afterwards. Remember when he was fighting Cell post his year in the chamber with Gohan, and Gohan said "When did he have time to get so strong?"
Better yet.
Statements from Toriyama have also heavily hinted at future Trunks returning.
Super is actually starting to get really good. Animation is still weak, but storyline is a lot of fun right now.

I use KissAnime on Kodi, but their website is a good one to use. Usually uploads the new episode within 2 hours of viewing. Just go there.

Yea that was pretty cool. A few things of note:
Buu could've swept the floor with all of the opponents so far if you think about it. Maybe not Hit but hitting vital points would not have any effect on buu.
The next episode is supposed to be even better, I think we're in for a treat.
We're supposed to get a resurgence of another character in 2 episodes.

Does anyone know where I can find DBZ episodes online with the Bruce Faulconer music? I swear, I can find every episode in great quality with the shitty "new" music, but hard any in good quality with Bruce Faulconer. What gives?
