The chick leaves her fiance at the alter to go frick some other dude
Then her mom tells her that she left the guy she loved for some rich dude but she still dreams about the other guy
Then the main chick leaves that other dude to go frick her fiance again
Then leaves her fiance again for the other dude again
And the conclusion of the movie is that she forgets all that shite and the side piece that ruined her marriage has to convince her to love him all over again constantly? And it's not even his idea. She writes the book and forces him to read it to her.
whatever makes her happy.
basically it shows they both loved her and both wanted to make her happy, but she had to choose which would make her happy. it's not that complicated and is a recurring theme in many love stories.
eta of course pursuing a girl like that gives an insight into what type of guys they are. then again you can't control who you fall in love with...

At least she is not Rose Dewitt Bukater. That bitch was trippin.

Yep, the female brain isn't complicated. They not only want their way all the time they expect it. Oh and double standards are bad when they don't work in her favor.

Does Katharine Ross tell Dustin Hoffman, "Get lost, creep. I'm a married woman"? No. She runs off with him - on a bus. That is the reality.

I'm with the OP. I didn't watch this movie until a year ago. Before watching it with my wife, I even had buddies tell me "it's different man", "actually a good chick flick", "not like all the others". No, it was exactly the same.
So, she dates Gosling for a summer, basically. Then he goes of off to war. Side note, how pointless was E in this movie. It's like he had a bigger role then they changed their mind and just killed him in France somewhere. Anyway, she meets a nice, rich guy who really does nothing wrong. fricks him over, then ends up with her high school fling. Yeah, great story. Don't even get started on the horrible old people scenes. That old lady was a terrible actress.

might be doable, how do you feel about Mario Kart?
Same way I feel about sex. It's more enjoyable with atleast 2 people, but I have no problem playing by myself.

OP, did you miss the role her parents played?

They're against OTAN?
- Yeah.
What are they for? Soviet troops racing
across Europe, eating the croissants?

No. It's in the OP.
Her mom was a spiteful shallow bitch who left a guy she loved to marry a dude because he had money, but she still goes and watches the guy mine coal and fingers herself. Then she had a daughter, and in a twisted brutal action let her daughter cry and hate herself while she hid letters from Gossling so that her daughter would marry some other dude.
However, as fricked up as that is, she dated Gossling for like 2 months and then moved to a different place an grew up and moved on with her life and got engaged. And they didn't even really date, they just fricked a bunch in a barn or some shite like teenagers do. She ditched her entire life and fiance for some dude she fricked in a barn in high school and then never talked to again.

Why cant you just say you watched the movie
Its funny that this is how everyone on here phrases it when discussing a criticized/looked down upon or non popular show/movie, then they end up discussing the show in detail

Your post made me happy that I haven't and I will never ever watch this movie.

I've seen it so much (because of my wife) that it's grown on me. Forgive me movie gods of the M/TV board.

What part didn't you understand?

Posted on 2/14/17 at 5:53 am to Breesus
It's the ultimate "Will they? Won't they?" with debilitating mental illness thrown in as a gimmick.
Posted on 2/14/17 at 7:01 am to Breesus
The scene with the geese or ducks or whatever was straight pimp. I knew he was getting those draws when that happened.

1) don't pretend like you haven't watched it before with your wife. We've all been there.
2) women are some fricked up individuals.

I hate this movie so much. My girlfriend was actually angry at me after we watched it. She said I would never do all that (reading the book every day) for her.
Hahaha tell her you do not read books and would rather go fishing or something. Deal with it. So basically the ideal man is an easily manipulated pussy according to this movie, gotcha
