Looks to me that Freddy got to the jury

What makes you think Freddy got to the jury? I was kind of distracted while finishing the finale Sunday night, may have missed something

Nothing. He didn't. Ridiculous to assume he had anything to do with that

Yea, he definitely didn't. He just wanted to get a mistrial for Naz. Plain and simple. The show lead us to believe he had other motives for Naz, and he did to an extent. But in the end, he believed he was innocent. I thought it was an excellent turn of events in a show that otherwise had some lazy writing.

Why did they give the final shot to the cat? I guess that's some metaphorical stuff that went over my head.

The cat was metaphorical on many levels.

1. It gave the allergy/asthma connection between Nas and Stone.
2. It was an analog to Nas. Stone couldn't give up on either of them, regardless of the stress it was putting him under.
3. The cat's detention went along with Nas' detention.

I have no idea why people would voluntarily watch something they've said is terrible since episode 2-3 for another 6 wks. If I don't like a show I just quit watching rather than watching it to get pissed off and post about how shitty it is. This phenomenon is so weird to me.
You don't stop watching a show that has a couple of bad episodes, why would you do that?

So episode 1 is fantastic, then the next 2-3 are not good. Not sure why you'd expect people to quit watching a show they know could have a great ending with only 4 episodes left.

Then after 5-6 episodes, you're invested and may as well finish it out to see if there's a huge twist that can redeem itself.

Her character was AWESOME. Then they had her smuggle drugs into a jail cell in her pussy knowing damn well there are cameras everywhere. wow
The thing is, that's not THAT crazy, it does and has happened in real life.

But I'm going to assume it's with attorneys who have built up relationships and love interest with their clients.

The kiss then subsequent drug thing literally came out of nowhere, so it just made zero sense whatsoever for her to do it. You can't even really use the young/naïve angle because the love interest just came out of nowhere. Had they played up a flirty conversational type angle, then it could have worked a bit better.

He definitely didn't, they would have given us something to tip us off to that.

Not to mention at that point in their investigation, all of the evidence was pointing at Nas and nobody else.

I enjoyed this series, but I doubt it's one I'll ever revisit again.

I watched all the episodes this week. I really liked the show.

Came here to look at the discussion and good lord. Is anything on TV good enough for this board?

Looking forward to WestWorld.

The only subplot I wish they would've revisited was the Blonde attorney that tried to get him to take the 15 years. Mostly because I thought he character was a bitch, but I wouldve like for someone to get her to answer that after the state refused to press charges a second time.

Additionally, the failure of the DA's Office not providing the video in question to defense counsel, would result in a conviction being overturned and the ADA possibly going to jail for failure to disclose exculpatory information.

Is that true even though it was after the state had rested? Would it still be a Brady violation?

My biggest question is why did the defense never bring up the fact that the inhaler was taken from the crime scene and thus evidence was tapered with...?

What do you mean? Did you watch the examination of the lead detective where they asked him why he took it from the scene?

I think the kiss and the drug smuggling for Kapoor came out of nowhere and was completely out of character for the character she built up.

I didn't expect the show to end up like it did. For some reason, I expected Nas to get off, but I didn't expect it to be because the DA realized she had the wrong person in the defendant's chair especially on the heels of Making a Murderer, Undisclosed, Serial and Truth and Justice.

It was a solid, almost satisfying and wholesome way to end the season. I'm guessing the possibility is left open for a second season, but then they would likely have to find another unless Stone takes over the defense for the new accused.

Yes, the case hadn't gone to the jury at that point.
All admissible evidence that has the potential to negatively impact the state's charges must be turned over to the defense.

If it weren't for the skin story line and ruining Kapoor with the kiss and drug smuggling, I would have given a series about the two of them becoming more sought after lawyers a chance. Or even Box going into a PI role. I wouldn't be interested in more "inside the prison" stuff though. It would have to be more about investigating actual murders...so true detective from a lawyer's perspective?

Side note...what was the point of Stone's son? He liked Stone then he didn't want anything to do with him, but it was all irrelevant anyway

Maybe a little character building? When Stone got that phone call at the end of the last episode, I was hoping it would be his son.

And I was sad to see his condition come back. John Turturro gave a great performance in this series.

Absolutely.
His closing argument to the jury was very realistic and believable...a very rare commodity in this series.
