I'm conservative and while maybe I should be insulted I found that to be a pretty funny quip against the section of the right wing spectrum that are bible thumping loons.

Well, if some of the Repulitards would just STFU in public they wouldn't make such easy comedic targets.

I wanna see where someone said Hurricanes are caused by gay marraige

The character was making a joke. It was not intended to be taken literally.

That was just one example, they've done it a lot with the backhanded comments; it on every Sorkin show I've seen, it's a joke but it's a slant against Conservatives. Like I said its not a big deal and it's to be expected from a Sorkin show, but it still can be a little annoying.
I know I'm nit picking

Obviously, so why do you say Republicans need to STFU so they won't say jokes like that?

Because too many of the pandering right wingers make stupid pronouncements concerning well . . . everything. Sure left wingers do it too. It's just not as funny.

I've never seen this show. Is the "Republican" the guy who went on that silly rant in the preview.

I think it would be an I wish they'd do some that's what I'm saying. Both extreme conservatives and extreme liberals can be quite funny in their beliefs/opinions at times; I just wish we could get jokes about them both. I feel like the show is missing out on half it's material; imagine if their was a conservative guy around the office calling out stupid stuff the left does instead of just 50 people all agreeing with each other and not acknowledging any faults in their logic. It would make for a better show IMO

Didn't Pat Robertson say something like that about New Orleans after Katrina hit

This joke makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It comes off sounding intelligent but in reality it's a joke I probably would have rolled my eyes at if I were still watching the show (I quit 10 minutes into the second episode, that's when I realized what it was about to become). If global warming causes hurricanes then what caused them before the advent of fossil fuels? Sorry to get technical over a joke, but I still would like humorous quips and punch lines to actually make some sense.

And the whole gay marriage thing? What prominent Republican (Pat Robertson DOES NOT count) has ever come out and said that hurricanes were caused by gay marriage?

He actually said low barometric pressure not global warming. That quote is just the poster going off of memory.

The joke also isn't meant to be taken literally, its an over exaggerated example of conservatives' ridiculous stances on things as meaningless as gay marriage.

Fans of movies and television overlook ridiculous and fantastical things for the sake of entertainment everyday. I don't see why yall find it so difficult to do the same for this show.

I understand it is not the greatest show that has ever graced the television screen but if I attempted pick apart everything to the degree that some of you do with this show I would never enjoy anything.

That works on a show like the Simpsons. On a show that is supposed to simulate a newsroom, it just seems weak.

Just my opinion. Again, I don't watch the show. Just seeing what people were saying and thought it was worth chiming in.

I agree and I like the show; I just think if they evened out who they were bashing, or even just had some differing opinions it would make the show better. Not bc of my opinions but just as a show

And I am far from disagreeing with that statement however it is not "bad" tv right now. Of course it could be better but facts are that most on this site don't like it because it doesn't fit into their own spectrum of acceptable political views.

Would it seem weak and lazy to those on this site who claim it is if it was a right leaning show that ignored all the right's short comings while hammering the left every step of the way?

I don't think it would, not here at least.

Yes. If the show was like that, you may as well just listen to Rush Limbaugh.
