I enjoyed it. Don is probably my favorite character on the show and was glad to see him dump Maggie on her arse. I'm all for Team Sloan. I borderline loathe Maggie/Jim right now.
What?
A. Sloan is fricking amazing. A hot economist.
B. No Don and Sloan. Don is a giant tool bag.
C. Jim is great. I kinda liked the cute Maggie. Don't like the new wild look Maggie is sporting.
That said, it was hard to not feel sorry for Don when he was leaving. They were never a good fit though, Jim Maggie works better.

Agreed. I like Sloan.

He's a little douchy but he's got a good heart for the most part.

Jim is a complete titty baby right now. I hate it.

The dialogue is driving me nuts.
The extreme pacing of the vocal delivery is so chronically off-putting that it leaves a viewer not giving a shite about the content of the dialogue. My wife can't stand it, no one consistently interacts like that shite. Waterson's character portrayal is like major meh. I have liked some of Sorkin's past work, but this just doesn't capture nor hold my attention at all.

I know that this story will work towards the deposition. I didn't care for the timeline starting in August 2011.

It's like they said, hey Sam, you've been on tv a long time constrained by the censors. Lets see how many times you can say frick. You will be the Al Swearengen of the Newsroom, cocksucker.

Honestly, to me this show often comes off as someone trying to imitate Sorkin, a bad caricature

It basically is... Sober Sorkin trying to imitate drug-crazed Sorkin.

Agreed. I put up with it last year, but it is quickly wearing thin already.

I really don't let the pace of the dialogue bother me. I guess I just have no problem keeping up with it.

It's not about keeping up with it. It is completely unrealistic and it makes them come across as the elitist douchebags that they are trying to portray
Posted on 7/16/13 at 7:32 am to Sho Nuff
So the dialogue makes them come off as what they are trying to portray, and that's a problem?
Posted on 7/16/13 at 8:48 am to FalseProphet
I think he means the problem is they are trying to make them complete douchebags and not believable characters.

I'm done with this show...Just can't take the terrible/unrealistic/corny/forced dialogue anymore.
It could have been good/great, but they screwed up.
people don't interact like they portray on the show, so instead of letting the dramatic and interesting portrayal of news-making entertain the viewer, I'm too busy vomiting over the fake interaction of the characters and hating them all.
Will being a dick to the lawyer that is presumably trying to help him is a perfect example of the whole show ... that's just not how people interact.

I hung in there during season 1. I'm already losing interest after season 2, ep 1.
They could have at least cast better looking people if they were going to force this dialog. Other than Sloan, they are mediocre.
Maggie....vomit....OT1

Love the show. Could be because I'm a liberal elitist who speaks quickly.

I might have to watch at least the first episode although given the comments I am not optimistic. Seems like people who liked last year aren't thrilled with the premiere.
Having said that, I don't mind the dialog. That is just Sorkin's style although it does feel a tad more forced.

I am not a huge fan of the "here is where we are, now let's see the chain of events that led to this point."
Posted on 7/16/13 at 12:32 pm to tirebiter
I liked the show last year minus the barrage of liberal crap they forced on the viewer. This year I had much less patience and couldn't even finish the first episode. The show just annoyed me more than anything and I'm done.
