I was mightily pissed off that the surgeon and the hospital didn't let me know in advance that they were using out-of-network providers. They must have had some other unhappy customers previously.

This always sucks, but the subscriber (you) receives a summary plan doc at the beginning of every plan year that explains the facility vs. physician charges. Provider websites always (required by law) have a list of both network physicians AND facilities. It is always good to look at the beginning of each plan year at this list to know where to go if something happens.

70% also isn't bad... 80% of physician/facility charges is the average. If you're truly getting billed for out-of-network on a typical plan, you'll be paying 40-50% of the costs.
Didn't feel like reading 7 pages.

Simple answer = Magee has more YPC than Hill. He's more effective. Pretty straightforward.

Because we... lost... the last 3 games that we played?

ETA: Predicting the future would be saying we lost 4 in a row.

I mean, it sorta sounds like they took part of it for the song they play after we get a TD, but I am not really sure

At first I thought I could somewhat comprehend your stupidity. Then a strange thing happened... I realized you don't know the difference b/t the damn fight song and Tiger Rag. Okay. Also, people don't get uptight about college kids cussing. People get uptight because cussing in unison forces the administration to face fines from the television providers, causing them to get rid of these songs. "Whatever, we'll just cuss to something else." That's the stupidity that I don't understand. Tiger Rag is a song that is part of the tradition that goes back decades at LSU. The stupidity of students caused us to lose that tradition. Then Neck became popular. It was something that people looked forward to across the stadium (yeah, those people that pay a minimum of 3-5x more for their tickets than you paid for your student ticket) and is now gone. I would rather have these traditions to look forward to than have to move on to something else every year b/c of the stupidity of the student section.

As John Chavis would say... "Tradition doesn't graduate" -- the students just don't give a $h!t about it.

I 110% heard it at the game in Dallas. Not sure about at home.

You're 110% wrong. It was All of the Lights that the fans chanted STTDB to. Heard it on TV in the 3rd quarter I believe..

Reggie Bush was 5 at USC but he couldnt wear that in NFL so he went to 25

He's #5 with Detroit...

ETA... JK... He wore #5 in a preseason game but it's 21 now..

it's based on Operation Tailwind at CNN in ~2000 or so,

I wish more people would realize this...
I for one agree w/ the OP... I liked season 1 because despite its political leanings, it's a television show and makes for good entertainment. News networks today lean almost as hard (in both directions) as this show does, so the fact that the show is fiction makes it bearable to me. Season 2 has strayed away from politics almost entirely (Romney campaign is the exception). It shows how major networks can make mistakes that the public generally slams them for (CNN's reporting of Operation Tailwind is the basis for this season) and it gives a look inside some of the possible causes of those mistakes. It also shows the different levels of a news network and its parent company and the type of relationships that exist there. I agree that it is overly dramatic but the dialogue is genuinely intelligent and insightful.

I wonder if she would have jumped on that if he wasn't an LSU player.

Yep. They were together pre-LSU commitment.

Wonder what he'll do for income to support the baby now...
He was named the starter last year for a reason (yes, he beat out Hill). He runs .2-.3 faster of a 40 than Hill. He doesn't cut as quickly as Hill, that's the only drawback I see, but he accelerates a lot faster and has more speed. He also put on around 15 lbs this offseason, putting him near Hill's weight. He's proven himself in the chances he's had and gives us a lot to look forward to IMO... I won't say one's better than the other simply b/c of the fact that they've gone against different defenses.

the ending is just weird (probably too realistic to be honest but really just felt like an empty end).

I've also always had trouble with Amsterdam's motivation to want to kill Bill. I mean, I get it, but outside of Amsterdam himself, did anyone respect and love the priest more than the Butcher? He honored him constantly. Their battle just seemed to be the order of the day, and nothing personal. As crazy as Bill is, he's a pretty strong, surrogate father figure for Amsterdam, took him under his wing to give him a better life.

My thoughts exactly after watching it... Diaz's accent only annoyed me in the beginning b/c the first half of her sentences was 100% english, and then the last 2 words or so became Irish. It got better as it went on but I have no clue how they didn't reshoot a few of her lines.

Grabbed it from Best Buy on Bluray for 10 bucks... Never seen it before. 75% on Rotten Tomatoes means must be okay, but what does the board think of it?

I'm more concerned about what this Genoa business is.

Sorkin has already said that the story is based on CNN's blown coverage of Operation Tailwind... I'll leave it at that if you'd rather just watch them all (which I am either way).
Except that the major rumor was that he was fired b/c of his terrible relationship w/ Flacco...

It basically is... Sober Sorkin trying to imitate drug-crazed Sorkin.

This.
I watched. I actually liked it a lot... I think it sets up a more dramatic season that tones down some of the relationships a good bit. Maggie going off the deep end at some point definitely sets the tone for her character not being so middle school girl-y... The whole Genoa thing should definitely keep things interesting too.

Not sure why the libs like it

I typically lean left, but I can't stand most of the writing here. I love balanced approaches, which obviously don't exist in today's media. I'm hoping he'll take some shots against the left this season with re-election being covered as well as a few of the recent scandals. I also hope they tone Maggie's freaking out down a little bit...

The Newsroom - Season 2 (Spoilers)

Posted by lsujunior58 on 7/13/13 at 2:05 pm
So with a new season of The Newsroom starting tomorrow night, I couldn't help but wonder what the board's thoughts were on season 1, and who is excited to catch the new season. I found an article that really sums up how I feel about it in The Atlantic a couple of days ago.

Despite all of the frustrations, though, I'm going to keep watching. In general, if a show starts to drag or if a character gets amnesia or something, I'm out. Yet Sorkin has created something perfectly infuriating, where I'm not sure that I'm enjoying it, but I am completely engrossed.
