Sophie Turner isn't exactly box office gold. I hope they'd choose a better actress and one with less off-screen baggage too, but it's Amazon.

I would have loved this choice but there are a few issues with her that I think Amazon used to overlook her:
1. She's American
2. She's about to turn 39
3. She just recently had a baby
Daddario is limited in her acting abilities and likely would not be able to pull off a British accent. Her age also counts against her as Amazon no doubt wants someone younger to ensure multiple seasons of content. And she needs to round back into physical shape after having a child. Plus she probably wants to spend some time with her newborn considering this is her first child.

This is part of the master plan. Make shite, lower your expectations, then when they are the lowest, put out something a tad better than shite.....we say "it's not that bad"....boom, we love it (according to them).

Laura Croft needs to be athletic and hot. Sophie Turner is not athletic.

Turner also has zero charisma and has the acting chops of a cardboard box. A lead in this type of project has to have Harrison Ford 1981 type of Han Solo or Angekine Jolie circa 2000 magnetism that jumps off the screen.
And Sophie fuking Turner ain't got that....
