1. Was the movie character similar to the comic book deadpool? Unlike many, he doesn't take himself to seriously in the movie, comic book the same?
2. Didn't he have no hands, and katan-ish swords coming out of his stumps in the Avengers movie? Before he fought Wolverine?

No, this never happened. Stop asking about it.

Yes. It was honestly the most well done comic book hero adaptation to date, IMO.

Just because you dreamt something doesn't mean it actually happened.

There's a line in Deadpool when he refers to his cancer as "the worst thing that can possibly happen", then it cuts to an action figure of Deadpool from X-Men Origins Wolverine.

Yes, he is a character who is able to break the 4th wall which means he is aware he is in a comic/movie and will often talk to the reader/audience.

i thought the movie was really good, and i'm not a ryan reynolds fan, but this part was a perfect fit for him..
hopefully in next deadpool, they continue the interaction with Colossus and Negasonic, it was entertaining and funny.
With so many bad super hero shows and movies lately, this was a breath of fresh air.

I loved the movie. I'm surprised there hasn't been more info about the sequel and who will play Cable. I know people hate Mel Gibson but he's a great actor and the jokes would be fantastic. One thing about the movie that doesn't seem to get talked about much is DeadPool actually killed the bad guy. He wasn't forced to because the bad guy was trying to murder innocent people. He didn't kill him because his own life was in danger. He killed him strictly out of vengeance.

I was wondering if you were going to ask if it was overrated, and that answer is a resounding yes. But that's not a very popular opinion around here, so the downvotes are forthcoming.
I do know from discussions that the movie is pretty close to what the comic fanboys thought it should have been and they were pretty happy with it (which is why my opinion is unpopular). Also, that was the Wolverine Origins movie, not Avengers.

1. Yes
2. You are confused. Deadpool was not in the Avengers movie. However, the "katan-ish swords" coming out of his hands, not stumps, is addressed in the Deadpool movie.

I don't understand this.
Are you saying you wanted it to be different than how he was in the comics?
Stuff like this irritates me. It's fine if you didn't like the film just because it wasn't your cup of tea, but if you didn't like how Deadpool was in the comics, or wanted the film to be different from that and that's why you didn't like the film then you're opinion is pretty irrelevant in that regard.

Cocomo doesn't want to hear about how it was in the comic book. He is a dedicated nonreader.
Don't have me banned please, Coco, buddy, pal.

I don't know one thing about the comic books and I thought the movie was really good.

Not at all. I have literally no idea how the comics are outside of what I have seen people talk about (on a very limit basis) on here.
I'm saying that as a general moviegoer, who has no real knowledge of the comics or the character, that the movie was just okay. It tried too hard to be funny instead of just being funny, if that makes sense. And I get that that's almost exactly how the comic character is, it failed a bit for me.
And that's not to say that I hated it or anything. It was pretty good, and funny at times. I just don't agree with the overwhelming adoration it gets (again, that's coming from someone completely unfamiliar with the comics).
Does that make sense?

Yes. I hate comic movies but thought it was great b/c in a way it was mocking them. Or maybe I missed the point.
