I just recently finished playing it, and it’s pretty frustrating how the lore and story are so cryptic/obtuse. Especially because it actually is a good story with really cool lore, but it kind of takes you out of things when you constantly have to google wtf is going on because the game refuses to do any exposition.
i kind of liked piecing everything together through the small bits you get from item descriptions and stuff. destiny did the same thing kind of and i liked that too.
im probably just weird though

Horizon Zero Dawn is a really cool original story I would love to see be made into a big budget TV show. Believable female lead checks a box for Hollywood. It’s the best storyline I’ve personally ever experienced in a game.
Absolutely amazing concept. I need to get back into it. I got about 12H into the main story and got sidetracked.

Firewatch
Man, this game was absolute cash money for 95% of its run through. Fantastic writing, voice acting, and an immaculate art/music/graphics cocktail. The ending (no spoilers) really didn’t sit well with me, though. Felt wildly underwhelming compared to what it was building towards.
That said, I think Firewatch would work really well as an indie drama/romance with two charismatic leads as Henry and Delilah. Intersperse with flashbacks to fill in some key character moments, fix the ending a bit, and I think it could be beautifully done.

The sequel’s story isn’t as strong as the first but the world is absolutely massive in scope and I love the new creature designs. The story in the first especially the third act is legitimately great.

Nein, nein, nein. This is the kind of stuff we're trying to avoid.
