Betting we get a big cliffhanger.
Thrawn showing up in the end like Gideon last season to be the new bad guy in Season 3.
We could also see a Jedi(Ezra) show up but under a hood and left to speculate who he is as he takes Grogu with him.

If Thrawn shows up, it needs to have Thrawn's True Face blaring loudly on an organ in the background.

When asked about his TK number, who in the head went "TK-421?"

This is what TV shows should be. Not every episode should be a huge reveal but it has to still have a story and purpose.
Spot on. This show makes the episodes as long as the STORY needs them to be.
Don’t give me an hour episode each week and have a few use the whole hour and others have filler shite just to take up an hour.

Only real question I have is what the point of the face scan was if Din Djarin is not in the Imperial officer database? Wouldn’t he need to be an authorized user? I realize they needed to get Mando’s helmet off, but it seemed like a plot hole especially when the senior officer didn’t recognize Mayfeld.

That was a goofy plot point like him leaving the jet pack.
But imperial security has never been very tight.

Great episode, on so many levels.
One thing is people need to remember, it's a series, not a 2 hr movie. You can have "side missions", as it's being called, because you have time for them... and it actually makes more sense to do so.
Great action, and it helps fill in the bigger plot (how do they find Gideon).
Also gives us deeper insight into Mando's vows, his helmet comes off for this. First his Mandalorian helmet, which he tries to slip by on a technicality, and then the stormtrooper helmet too.
Then we get Mayfield/Burr's character, and his perspective on things. Great spot standing on it's own, and also as something for Mando to reflect on.
That bit alone makes this one of the best episodes of the series.
On the big picture- this absolutely is Star Wars, not "Disney Star Wars". That wasn't shooting a droid, or an alien, or a faceless trooper behind a mask. That wasn't "action". That was sitting down and talking to a vile human being, listening to his perspective, and deciding yeah, you know what, I'm going to fricking shoot you in the chest. Because frick you, you deserve to die.
That moment wasn't TV-G rated.
The way everyone just paused a second like "did he just do that?" was fitting, because it not only made sense in the show (it is an imperial base afterall), it gave us a moment to process it, if we so wanted. Wasn't a self-defense, wasn't in the course of action, or however else Disney can sometimes spin violence and still say "made for kids".

Thrawn is the likely villain in the Ashoka spinoff series.
Unless they do some sort of cross over episodes I don't think Thrawn will appear in Mandalorian.

The 3 shows will supposedly crossover.

That whole “people think they want freedom, but what they really want is order” line was so chilling, well-delivered, and true foreshadowing. Just really good stuff.
Also, am I the only one who was kinda hoping mando would get poked in the eye with his helmet off?

I have seen the scanner compared go reCaptcha type thing. It ensures that it isnt a wanted person or a droid. It requires a real being to access as long as they had the proper key, but if they are a wanted criminal or enemy it would tip off security.
Mayfield wasn’t sure he would recognize him. He apparently doesn’t. And it fits, he doesn’t value his own men enough to care to remember their faces.

Was that when the empire blew up the entire South Side of Space Boston?

Operation Cinder was the Emperor's final order in which the Imperial Forces would lay waste to their own worlds to sow fear.

"Let's just say they might recognize my face"
Can somebody inform me about the original clone troopers? Like, what happened to all of them? Did they get old or were they purged? What would be the outcome if Boba shows up looking like an OG trooper?

They aged rapidly.
Posted on 12/11/20 at 2:36 pm to kingbob
Yeah I know that. So if Boba shows up would everyone freak out and think he's an OG trooper? Would they know he's Boba Fett?
Posted on 12/11/20 at 2:40 pm to SECSolomonGrundy
Boba was THE elite bounty hunter in the Empire. He was the only “clone” that didn’t have the accelerated aging, so it’s safe to say that officers would recognize him.
Posted on 12/11/20 at 2:45 pm to kingbob
They would know his armor for sure. But I get the sense that he was making a reference to his face and the clone troopers.
Did Boba ever take off his helmet in the movies? Maybe Jengo did but I don't ever recall seeing Boba's face, other than as a child.
