A positive review that isn't a "suck it haters" to the void

This actually makes me interested in the movie because it seems like you actually liked it. . .not as though you "liked it" to "own the {insert whomevers}"

few more reviews like this and I might have gotten tickets

My wife and I both enjoyed it. The kids stayed locked in the whole time and one even asked if it would be out to rent when we got home because he wanted to watch it again that night.

I get what people are saying about it not being connected to any greater purpose and that the stakes were low, but it was a fun movie and we felt like we got our monies worth.

It made me download the new star wars video game to give it a try

Just got out. I did not care for it. Yes, there's a lot of cool action scenes but it has no story. There's just something missing. I found myself kind of bored. It's a bummer because I was hoping I'd really enjoy it.

SPOILERS:

SPOILERS: look away if you don’t want to see this ….

THEORY: Okay, one possible way this moves the story line is Mando completely destroying the entire Hutt criminal enterprise that has lasted thousands of years in the Outer Rim and was a government unto itself that rivaled the Empire from the underground inadvertently created the power vacuum that alllkwed the Empire to reorganized into the First Order. If that’s where their going with his, then the movie was VERY significant.

I could see that but i dont really want them to go deeper into that period between the fall of empire and rise of the first order.

One reviewer I watched said that aside from a few well-done action scenes, it is very slow and dull.

Thrawn has to set up shop somewhere. Not a bad theory.

Interesting theory. But honestly, I do not think they were trying to set anything up, I think they just wanted to make a safe movie that stopped the bleeding. It was intended to capture some of the magic that Mandaloran had when Disney+ released. Problem for this movie it that it was at the end of Kennedy's tenure, so it was not allow to really be Star Wars.

I just watched another reviewer

Said if you got the Walker popcorn bucket it was $80.80. . .so it would sound like AT-AT

Thought that was pretty neat

The movie was made to sell trinkets and assert no particular morality other than moral relativism.

Hollywood is not allowed to assert morals, nor is it capable of writing a story that has soul and asserts any sort of universal morality. Its all marketing data driven and political mandate driven with DEI writers, directors, producers, casting, casting directors, etc.

It's impossible to get anything that resembles star wars in 2026 within the current Hollywood ecosystem. Its never going to happen unless the entirety of Hollywood implodes into dust.
