I don't get all the hate. I'm a big lotr fan, and sure the elvish hair and female dwarves lacking beards is a bit annoying, but I don't get why cosmetic decisions are causing a show to get railroaded by user reviews.

I'm just glad to see middle earth again

After the suns owner report comes out. Season 2 of rings of power must have 70% black and 70% women on the show now. Storyline or source material takes a back seat.

Social media has told you to think this way. Everyone has already stated this show isn’t great and why. If you continue to say these lies people will continue to think this way. The source material has been shite on.

I wasn't referring to race or gender, I was talking about clothing choices, elvish hair not being both in front and behind the ear; dwarve women not being indistinguishable from dwarve men. I think the race/gender criticisms are indeed false narratives; although you did mention both aspects in a previous post as a big criticism.

I'm aware that harfoots don't shot up until the 3rd age, but I'm also aware that a LOTR show without halflings would be a tough task and I'm glad to see them. I'm aware that Gandalf, as we know him, didn't show up until the 3rd age, but I don't care and I'm glad to see him too.

Also, to say it has gone completely away from the source material is probably disingenuous. The fall of numenor is obviously right around the corner; Celebrimbor is talking about developing a new forge (For what I wonder?). We haven't seen Annatar yet, but his machinations are everywhere.

I think the show is fine for what it is.

You obviously can't do 5 thousand years in 5 seasons, so they chose the end of the SA: the reign of Ar-Pharazon, and subsequent rise of the Dunedain in Middle Earth. That's when the bulk of things happen anyway, so they're just condensing it a bit more to let normal Men live (and become functional characters).

They've tweaked some Elvish and Dwarvish timelines, to give that side of things something worth watching at the same time. This might be the only time we get to see any of this onscreen, so you might as well.

I don't really mind the way they're portraying Galadriel... it wasn't what I expected, but bottom line, she's never been a team player with the other Elves. She's isolated in a closed society in LOTR, no visible interaction with any other realm. She's on the White Council, but that's specifically a response to Sauron, who is a threat to everything.

I think Galadriel is hard to relate to currently.

I do Think her character arc will be her chilling out, learning to work with others and becoming more of the Galadriel we see in the movies, but she is a large portion of the show and she’s kinda a bitch.

It also think it’s funny that people complain about this show being boring and compare it to HOD which is like 45 minutes of them talking in rooms about succession every episode. To like 10 minutes of action.

I have no problem with going slow like LOTR movies when people complained about the walking and moving slow. That stuff intrigues me when it’s done right. I just don’t think rings of power is as interesting as it should be

That was the worst scene by far in this show. Felt totally out of place and just laughable. Who’s idea was it to put this. They should be fired on the spot

It was so weird but the entire show feels out of place because besides ripping off names it has none of Tolkien in it.

“It has none of Tolkien in it besides the. Characters and places and plot”

What would make it feel Tolkien?

I want To see who the Metoer Man is
I want To see who Andar is
I want To figure out what Halbrand’s deal is.

I dont want to learn anything more about Harfoot society.
