I have no idea what the F I just watched but it was awesome

So what was the deal with the God dude? Was that a joke?

This was, by far, the weakest episode of the season for me. Maybe in the end it will have more meaning but it seems like a wasted episode and other than spending an entire episode getting them to Australia, it didn't further the plot for me. At this point of the show I need things to keep moving. Oh well, still enjoyed the sheer craziness of it all. I will be interested in re-watching this episode at the end of the series to see if there were more things that we missed.

The beginning scene in the sub was such a throw back to Lost for me. Even taking place in the South Pacific. It would be something if they connected the two but that might come across quite gimmicky.

Just watched it again and you're right. It was still good for me, but the weakest of the season


With the momentum off arguably the best episode of the series last week, I expected more. This was a filler episode

Maybe. Or maybe after the initial craziness of his conversation with fake-God-celebrity, Matt was blasted with a whole lot of truth. He might even recognize that almost everything he accused fake God of, Matt is actually doing himself, except projecting it on Kevin.

Matt has been forced to face his own spiritual pride...and that is a hard pill to swallow.

I was curious about what the massive explosion was going to be. That was pretty cool. Outside of that, I don't really have an opinion on this episode yet. I might rewatch late on this week.

Burton is in season 1 on the news when they say "Man claims he is God and can't die in Australia" or something similar. He's also on the bridge in the afterlife in S2 and gives Kevin a choice.

So did he blow the sub up or fire a missle? Who did it hit ?

There are no filler episodes in this show. Matt's changing, Jon now knows about Evie, and that will likely be important as I don't buy it that he is so calm about that. Laurie going to Australia when we know how Nora feels about Laurie. Plus Laurie will play a huge role before Oct. 14th/15th when it comes to Kevin. Maybe even realizing he's not delusional. Plus, the whole French nuke guy is obviously going to be a major factor.

It wasn't a filler episode, it was a set-up episode. Those 2 are entirely different. A show that only has 3 seasons is not going to have a filler episode smack in the middle of the final season.

The two keys security measure implies a nuke, and they were saying "nuclear incident" on the news. It's hard to say if the blew up the sub or launched a nuke at another target. They made sure to cut the scene right as he turned the key with no indication so that tells me it's a very important plot point they want to keep hidden atm.
