Ken Watanabe

Completely steals the screen. He has such an amazing presence in every movie I’ve seen him in.

Everyone shits on this move because "rabble rabble Tom Cruise is white not the last Samurai. The last Samurai is played by Ken Watanabe and he's a legit contender for GOAT movie character lists.

I never saw this movie for the longest time because of this. I thought it was laughable to have Tom Cruise play a samauri. Then I saw it and was completely blown away.

Incredible movie.

I love this movie. It actually makes sense how Cruise’s character would end up how he does.

Just great acting all around really. The Jap widow’s disdain at first for him seems so real to me. And she doesn’t get with him like some popcorn flick would make happen.

She just believes her husbands spirit has lived on in him. I love how they showcased this.

You don’t like the Shogun mini series from back in the day? I think it’s fantastic. Decades ahead of its time.

Yeah, I ignored it for years because I don't care for Tom Cruise. But AMC was marathonning it one day when nothing else was on and I was blown away. Great movie.

It's an incredible movie with an incredible performance by Cruise and the rest of the actors as well as an incredible score, anybody that doesn't agree should just bend over and frick their own face.

Pacing was much better in Dances With Wolves to me. Last Samurai was good though. Saw it in theatres and was the best movie I had seen for a while at that point.

Definitely a great watch. I admit to having probably seen it 30 times on TV. Wish I'd seen it in a theater.

The first movie I ever saw featuring a Samurai, was a Charles Bronson Western called 'Red Sun'. 'Shanghai Noon' stole a little from it. This great early 70's cast features Charles Bronson, Alain Delon, Toshirô Mifune, and Ursula Andress, Yes, it has one guy from Magnificent Seven with one of the Seven Samurai. Loved it in the theater as a 12 year old. It's not a great movie, but worth watching for sure.

It was also Ken Watanabe’s coming out party being nommed for Supporting Actor.

He is one of my absolute favorite actors.

I loved The Last Samurai, even if it's not historically accurate. Good story, great visuals, and some great performances.

It's the last good Tom Cruise movie. Before he went completely nuts on Scientology.
