I can see ron as being at least partly behind the romance scenes.

Just because he knows it will make some of his fans uncomfortable lol

Offerman absolutely crushed this entire episode. If the only thing that comes out of this episode is him winning an Emmy, then it was worth it.

He really is a great actor. The White Lotus guy as well. But I don't know about an Emmy for just one episode.

No I didn’t dipshit. I VERY CLEARLY said that “gay dick in the arse” was not shown or implied…and it wasn’t.

The dude even said “we’ll start with the easy stuff”

Again. I know exactly what you said. Now I’m curious as to what you think “implied” means. Also what “start with” means.

The outbreak likely started at the flour plant mentioned in episode 2 and it quickly spread and hit everywhere at the same time because it went into products sold all over the world.

That was a decent enough explanation for me, and I liked that it was a semi logical reason for shite going down in basically a weekend.

And Roaad, you can quite literally watch the first 15 minutes and the last 15, and get all the info you need from the episode.

You people seem VERY obsessed with anal sex.

I have plenty of gay friends, and I have asked the question. "I do anal sometimes with female partners, and it is fun occasionally as a change of pace, but it is just so damned untidy. Is that REALLY your primary sex act?" The answer is uniformly "no," for exactly the same reason. Oral seems to be the "go to" for most gay guys.

So, I do NOT see that "gay dick in arse" was implied in that scene. To the contrary, the implication was for oral. Hell, it seem pretty damned EXPLICIT that oral was the plan that time.

I think they do give out Emmy’s for that. I remember huge movie stars would always get an Emmy for appearing in one episode of a sitcom.

i mean its pretty plausible for tv zombies. of course there would be major areas not directly hit by the tainted product. but given the delayed onset its not too crazy some infected folks bridged exposure to those areas.

also id imagine some people who survived the initial apocalypse would not know that shite was tainted. and maybe wiped out bands of first wave survivors trying to scavenge/loot in the aftermath.

Hey look, I'm glaad you liked all the gay kissing and sex stuff. I could've done without it, and it took away from the story a good bit for me (since it was all ultimately useless).
you're just salty HBO decided not to show any wangs

They focus on the filthy aspect of it so they don't get hard watching.

My main gripe with the episode was Frank the “survivalist” coming out of cover into the middle of the street to engage multiple hostiles. Come the frick on people jesus.

That and only mildly advancing main character seem like a big issues for what you say “was the best episode by far and imo took the show to the next level” and “was a great episode as a standalone in the world”.

Maybe Frank just came out as less survivalist and more really wanting to be a bottom in the show. Sorry that type of bad gay man triggers you.

Probably the first HBO show where critics will not push the overly gratuitous sex scenes as being overly gratuitous sex scenes and unnecessary to plot advancement in their reviews.

And of course it’s weird and unnatural for heterosexuals. Isn’t heterosexual sex and thought of tits & vaginas weird and unnatural for gay men? Outside of saying something positive publicly just to advance their politics I doubt lesbians were intimately glued to their tv watching the gay sex scene.

Showing Gay relationships in depth for most of an episode is also going to be seen as odd for guys that don’t view guys sexually or intimately.

If Sexuality isn’t a choice then why would the majority of population be interested watching gay sex scenes and not get disappointed in an episode focused on gay intimacy and gay sex to the point that it only mildly advances main character and messes up Frank’s survivalist skills.

If it would’ve been a straight couple I would’ve been equally ambivalent to the storyline of Bill and Frank.

Enjoyed the sequences with Joel and Ellie as usual.

Gay stuff was a little much for my taste personally. But I have to admit it was very well written.

Thats the thing about gay stuff in everything you watch now. If its well written and not just shoehorned into the story because "we gotta have a gay character", I don't mind it. Hell I even teared up a bit.

I also think it if it was anybody other than Ron Swanson I wouldn't have liked it as much as I did.

Edit: I mean I wouldn't have liked the episode. I'm totally not gay for Ron Swanson.

Maybe he grabbed what was closest to him and one of his most comfortable rifles?

Just underestimated the numbers

Since he was making his own ammo, he should have been teaching frank more, especially how to fire from a vantage point. Maybe focus a little more on them sharing more of what they know with each other to help keep each other alive. All his food looked badass though.

Anyways, Joel now has transportation and supplies on this journey because tess and frank were good people.

They will pretend the reactions would be the same if one was a woman but we know they wouldn’t. The most explicit thing they showed the whole episode was two men lying next to each other shirtless and a kiss on the lips and the homophobes are completely melting down when interactions like that between heterosexual couples are all over the place in media. And they’ll continue to wonder why there’s been a push to try to normalize same-sex relationships,

Shocker. Straight males enjoy watching sex scenes with hot females on tv but not gay sex scenes.

Shocker. Heterosexual couples and sex have been seen in the majority of tv & media stuff just like in the real world and kind of required for reproduction, evolution, and eventual development of Homo sapiens.

If only Adam and Steve’s relationship had been “normalized”, so no one would be around to use the term homophobe …

If only Adam and Steve’s relationship

What about Bill and Frank's? They may as well had been Adam and Steve in their own garden..they weren't kicked out, but chose to stay..not needing to prolong the human race in their world.

Which will be this world one day too, the sun will grown and eventually consume this world leaving everything to be equal in ash. with the only things untouchable by fire, are the memories that were made upon this earth.

In the moments of everything ending that way, would it really matter to you if Frank and Bill were physical for 2 minutes and found happiness for an hour in HBO last sunday.
