I liked the game, but thought it was inexcusable that the player didn't make the big decision at the end of the story. They really should have had multiple endings based on how you chose.

Man, there is so much great source material out there, just imagine what they could bring to screen for 200m.

I like Last of Us fine, but I won't be surprised if this is a dud.

Carnivale and Rome were 20 years ago, before the golden era of TV and streaming wars we are seeing now.

Totally different world and landscape.

I know that, but you missed my point. The point is those were both good shows (never seen Rome but heard nothing but awesome things about it) that were shut down too early due to costs being too high.

just because I think tv shows these days suck doesn't mean I'm better than you. you can like garbage, its fine but my opinion of them being garbage shouldn't affect your enjoyment.

As for gaming I have recently beat Sekiro, Nioh 2 and currently playing Ninja Gaiden Collection. the only game I really looking forward to is Elden Ring, don't really care for any other games to be honest.

Yes. Awful metrics, to be sure. How do you correctly gauge a game’s quality? I already know, but I want to make sure you do.

Never said the last of us sucked, just pointed out that it was really mediocre.

I just prefer action games to walking simulators. Devil May Cry Series, Souls Games, Doom. I play quite a lot of platformers as well ori and will of the wisps, cuphead, castlevania, hollow knight.

I care more about gameplay than anything else to be honest. stories in games aren't that good to be honest.

But video games are different. You've seen the movie. Not only have you seen the movie, you've controlled the movie. You've been the movie. It's why video game movies don't work. You have to piggy back off the property, not just exchanged the media.

I see your point and agree with a game like the Last of Us. The game was cinematic and realistic in its portrayal of characters and story. The world wasnt that interesting. Just typical post apocalyptic zombie nightmare. The characters made it special. I loved the game. Its one of only a handful of games that really got to me emotionally but I feel like Ive gotten all I can get out of that world and story.

Now where a video game movie can work and add something to the mix (if done right) I think would be something like Metroid. With the exception of the terrible story elements of Other M, there is a lot of mystery surrounding the Metroid universe and could be explored in other media. Or something like Halo that has a fair amount of lore that hasnt been fully explored in the games.

Then perhaps you should consider not making definitive judgements about specific games when you just dislike the entire genre.

Imagine being so pretentious that you think there’s no correlation between the number of people who like a game and how good the game is.

Yep, I’m sure you can tell that from my one and only post about console game sales. Pretty impressive.

“Always bringing up”.. GFY

It does beg the question, though - if you don’t play console games, how could you possibly know the game is “mediocre”?

console peasantry doesn't stem from the fact that you own a console. console peasantry is defined by pretentious soyboys who decry every single one of their 8 hour long cutscenes "games" as a "masterpiece".

don't forget to mention the fact that the game was an 11 out of 10 and it sold x amount of copies. Also if the game is criticized in any way bring up MUH GAME AWARDS.

I have nothing against consoles, just prefer to game on my high end PC. Also the PC has been getting a lot of console games lately which is super cool and I use an emulator to play all of nintendo's new games I pirated. not that deep, it's just games. pixels nothing more or less.

You went with Carnivale and Rome as your examples...I was coming to post Carnivale and Deadwood. Great shows that were cut short because of budgets.

It seems like Carnivale was the most expensive show that they had ever filmed because of the cost of sets/locations and a huge main cast.

It gets canceled, mostly due to Rome's even bigger budget and then Rome only makes it two seasons.

Carnivale is probably my favorite show. Still kinda pissed about it not getting the 6 seasons it needed to finish the story.

Just curious...did u really play The Last of Us? What didnt u like about it. I thought the gameplay was a fairly solid stealth action game. The graphics were great, characters were really well done, story was all right. The beginning and ending was just a gut punch for me as the father of two little girls.
