She's believable as a soccer mom that gets the kids dressed and off to school in a hurry so she can finish chopping up the body in the garage.

Boudica, Joan of Arc, Tomyris all did that shite in just as if not more brutal eras.
Are you really comparing Boudica/Joan of Arc to Ms. Karen or whatever her name is?

Her 2 episode appearance in the Shield is all the proof I need to be convinced that she can pull off being a ruthless, devious, monster.
I never watched all of the Shield, but I'll take your word for it.
She's still that mother with a baby on her hip in the bar in Sweet Home Alabama for me. So it's a hard one to shake.

I do think the folks in charge of casting have done a good job thus far, so I'm hoping her ruthlessness here gets fleshed out in the next episode or two (assuming we probably move on from KC at some point sooner rather than later).

It’s not a spoiler. I’ve never played the game. It’s a simple knowledge of how video games work.
I hear this. The Road and the cannibals contained therein say hello as well.

I should’ve watched that
Thanks

Thanks

Yep, and Marcy was about as evil as it gets.
"Sorry daddy".

The guy said it's impossible for a woman to be a leader of men in a brutal time. I picked a few examples off the top of my head to show he was wrong. Oh noes on bringing up people relevant in history.

The casting is fine, she’s a very good actress but look at how they write the character. Her decisions are cartoonish just like Ellie. These people cannot write women because they can’t be perceived to insult women so they’re always perfect people who’s actions, no matter how stupid, end up benefiting everyone in some way through more bad writing.

Yeah. They really made her look like an infallible genius killing the doctor, who would be one of the most useful people to have around in this scenario. /s

Please tell me where you were able to watch the rest of the series that hasnt aired yet. I would like to watch and you clearly know where they are going with the character.

“Cartoonish” behavior like I said and don’t worry it will end up serving her in some way.

Highly doubtful. Just like the bad decision to ignore the bloater despite her second in command's wishes. That was definitely chekhovs gun and will come back to bite her next episode before our characters continue their journey

You hypocritical bigot, you dare question a woman?

Can we move on the discussion of how stupid some of the decisions Joel made were?
1. In an attempt to hide from people, they pull off the highway then drive across an entire field of high grass leaving a both highly visible and easy to follow trail right to them.
2. Can't build a fire because of someone seeing the smoke or fire, but it's ok to use a bright as the sun lantern?
3. Lets Ellie waste battery power at night reading a book of puns.
4. Finds blocked road going into the city but decides to drive around downtown with an inexperienced navigator looking at a road atlas.
5. Decides to climb up 30+ stories instead of trying to get away.
6. Glad he kept a rifle with 3 bullets as his primary weapon.
That's without getting into the discussion of the use of gasoline from 20 year old vehicles and why didn't they just sleep in the truck?
In the end, it showed what a waste the last episode was because other than some 20 year chef boyardee and a book of puns they immediately lose all the supplies they got from Bill.
This is a badly written show and yet I will probably hate watch it all.

Are you serious with this? The distance of visibility between smoke from a fire and a lantern isnt even in the same realm

Yeah im sure they could have walked those 1400 miles just as fast as the truck got them there.

All true but Joel is just a dummy in this show so it didn’t surprise me.
Posted on 2/6/23 at 3:04 pm to Madking
Ellie would have never made it out of Boston without Joel. He has proven to be very resourceful. The dude got em a truck and made the battery himself.
